THE HILL brothers probably won't get a chance to catch up on Saturday night, given one of them will be celebrating a premiership and the other commiserating a lost opportunity.

Both are set to play in their first Grand Final on Saturday – Stephen, 23, for Fremantle, and Bradley, 20, for Hawthorn.

While the hours after the game won't present a window for them to talk through what just transpired on the footy field, they'll have plenty of time in a few weeks when they catch up over in Perth.

"Saturday night after the game, you normally stay with your team, but when I go back home I'm going to stay at his house," Bradley said on Friday.

"I'll be there for a few weeks so I'll see him then."

Between them, they have about 10 people travelling from Perth for the game.

Among them is Stephanie Gray, the boys' seriously conflicted mum who was so confident at least one of them would be playing in the decider, she booked flights to Melbourne five weeks ago.

Bradley thinks she'll barrack for the Dockers on Saturday, being from Perth, but knows in her heart, she'll mainly be cheering for her two boys.

"I'm not too sure but she'll probably go for Freo. She's from Perth," Bradley said.

"I think she's just going to go for her sons and she's going to be happy either way.

"Mum's going to have a premiership player as one of her sons, so that will be good."

Stephen, the "shy one", didn't say much about his brother on Friday at the Grand Final parade.

He said they spoke earlier in the week but had largely kept to themselves in the lead up to the game.

But the cheeky Bradley said they last chatted on Monday, and that he wouldn't refrain from giving his big brother a shove if they crossed paths on the MCG.

"I don't do too much sledging but if I see him I'll probably give him a little hit if he walks past me," he said.

"But nothing too much. We just want to go out and play some footy.

"I just can't wait to get out there and play against Stephen."

Bradley admitted the past week had produced some exciting times for the family; that it wasn't just a thrilling period for him and his brother but the entire Hill unit, plus their friends.

Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson isn't as familiar with Stephen as he is with his speedy wingman.

But, he knows the Freo left-footer comes from quality stock given the calibre of Bradley, who joined the Hawks in the 2011 draft.

"I don't know Stephen particularly well but if he's anything like his brother, he's probably a ripper," Clarkson said.

"They're high quality lads and it's a pretty special moment I'm sure for Steph, the boys' mum, who will be sitting there tomorrow in one sense disappointed that her son is going to lose but really, really excited for the other son who is going to be a winner.

"Which way it turns out, I don't think she's going to mind, really.

"It's just another subplot to what's going to be a fascinating day."
