NORTH Melbourne midfielder Andrew Swallow's stunning first quarter effort in his side's win over Adelaide on Sunday has been rewarded with his first 10-vote game in the 2011 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year.

The 24-year-old was unstoppable in North Melbourne's opening term, racking up 17 touches and 10 clearances.

Although he couldn't maintain the amazing pace, Swallow still finished off with a career-best 39 disposals, 17 clearances and two goals, prompting his coach Brad Scott to hail him as one of the "genuine stars of the competition".

The perfect 10 catapulted Swallow into the top 10 players as voted by the AFLCA, with a total of 36 votes for the season so far.

West Coast ruckman Dean Cox continued his stellar year, dominating young Gold Coast ruckman Zac Smith on Saturday and earning 10 votes from coaches John Worsfold and Guy McKenna.

As a result, Cox has clawed his way up the leaderboard and now sits in third place on 44 votes.

Carlton's fine form has been reflected in the AFLCA votes with midfielders Marc Murphy and Chris Judd leading the pack.

Dual Brownlow medalist Judd was well held by Port Adelaide tagger Matt Thomas and was unable to assert his usual influence on the game, finishing with 22 disposals, his equal-lowest total this season.

It is only the third time this season that Judd has failed to register a single vote, allowing teammate Marc Murphy (50) to overtake him as outright leader after his 32-possession game was rewarded with six votes.

The coaches seemed to be split on the best players in round 11 with just the two 10-vote games awarded.

Melbourne coach Dean Bailey and Essendon coach James Hird shared different views on who was the best performer in Melbourne's 33-point win.

Ruckman Stefan Martin has continued his stellar form in what is a breakout year for him, sharing nine votes with teammate Jared Rivers.

Hawthorn star Cyril Rioli thrived in spearhead Lance Franklin's absence, booting a career-best five goals but it wasn't enough to earn him a perfect 10 with the lively forward falling short by one vote.

Sydney Swans Jude Bolton and Ryan O'Keefe also had the coaches split as to who was best on ground, while Carlton hard man Mitch Robinson stole the votes from teammate Andrew Walker, who's career-high six goal haul wasn't enough to clinch him the honours.
