THE MATCH Review Panel has sent a disapproving message to Campbell Brown after his reckless clash with Crow Aidan Riley, offering the Gold Coast veteran a six-match ban with an early plea.

Without the early plea, Brown's penalty would balloon to eight matches given his existing poor record.

The Match Review Panel cited Brown on Monday for his reckless bump/charge on Riley in the second quarter of Saturday's Gold Coast-Adelaide clash at AAMI Stadium.

After receiving a medical report from the Crows and on the video evidence available, the MRP offered the Suns utility a five-match sanction.

The incident was deemed as reckless (two points), high impact (three points) and high contact (two points).

Due to an existing poor record, Brown's initial five-match ban was increased to 825 demerit points, or eight games, taking in to account he has an existing bad record of five matches suspended within the last three years.

That took the penalty to eight matches, which can be reduced to a six game penalty with an early plea.

In 2011 during the Suns' clash with the Western Bulldogs, Brown was rubbed out for four matches as a result of two heated exchanges with Callan Ward and Barry Hall.
