THE Power has reacted to last week’s loss to Brisbane by making five changes to the 22 to take on North Melbourne at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night.

Into the side comes Peter Burgoyne for his 240th and final match for the club. He is joined by Robbie Gray, Justin Westhoff, Jason Davenport and Matthew Broadbent.

Gray has recovered after a scare with suspected appendicitis last week, while Westhoff will play his 50th match for the Power after spending last week in the SANFL. Davenport has recovered from an adductor injury and will play his 10th AFL match, while youngster Broadbent comes in for his third AFL match.

Missing through injury are Daniel Motlop (ankle) and Toby Thurstans (calf), while Brett Ebert, David Rodan and Tom Logan have been omitted.

Power Football Operations Manager Peter Rohde says the club decided to not take any risks and to rest Motlop.

“Mots pulled up a bit sore after last week, so there was no point in risking him – although he was desperate to play for Peter – while Toby has a calf problem,” Rohde says.

“Robbie Gray and Jason Davenport have both recovered from injury, while Justin Westhoff went back to the SANFL and did everything we asked of him, and we were very keen to give Matthew Broadbent another game before the end of the season.”
