This position is responsible for direct program delivery (Multicultural Program) and development throughout the Central-Northern region of Melbourne with emphasis on programs and activities for culturally and linguistically diverse young people and their families. The incumbent will be required to work closely with school staff, young people and parents to implement specific programs. The role will also involve working with stakeholders from government, corporate and community sectors.

Reports to:

  • Fan Development & Community Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of the Multicultural School Programs
  • Establish rapport with young people, teachers, parents/carers within the specified region and beyond and/or community organisations to implement the CFC Multicultural Program/Fan Development project
  • Raise awareness of participation opportunities for young people and their families and act as a resource and referral point for the community, particularly local League and Auskick
  • Collect and evaluate all relevant data and information from activities run throughout the year for future reference and improvements and maintain an up to date knowledge of youth services and programs within the region and surrounding area for dissemination

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualification/Degree in Sport & Recreation or related discipline
  • Previous experience in running clinics and primary level programs
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proven relevant experience working with young people, particularly from culturally and linguistically diverse populations
  • Flexibility in working outside business hours and weekends
