North Melbourne ... its why i wake up in the morning, its why im happy, it why im sad, its why i argue that collingwood are not good, it why i take my dog for a walk, its why i go to Arden St, It why i go to Etihad stadium, but most of all its why I LIVE.

I have the SPIRIT - ONE AND ALL!

Nick
The Krakouer brothers, the glorious 90s the King,archer...the pioneers of friday night, sponsorship and so much more... the battlers who never give up. instead of barracking for the big clubs just to be like everyone else I chose the blue and white... its been 30 years now and no one knows how lucky we are it means everything it means belonging!!

Glen
First memory of North was the '78 GF. We lost. I always complain to Dad that he didn't force me to go to the 77GF as I had to wait til 96 to feel premiership glory. In the 80's I loved the Krakouers and the cheer squad. Used to catch the last bus home on Friday nights after making the banner. Loved Johnny Longmire in the early 90s but as another North man once said to me "Denis Pagan gave meaning to my life!" The 96 GF was the best feeling. In 98 I left in June for a year in London. North didn't lose another game so I flew back for the GF. Worst day of my life. But that's how much North means to me! My grandfather and father gave me the passion for North and my two young boys know their Dad is crazy about North and they have no choice but to be too! North will rise to the top again, like every time before, against the odds, and with guts and persistence. That's the North Melbourne way.

Joe
Well, I'll start with saying I am in my 11th year of school. and for 11 years, I have been told my club is useless, and that we have no fans, no money, going to die out, bad players... you know the comments. But through all this, i have never ever turned away from this club.

We as north melbourne supporters have been through a lot. The constant pressure to relocate. The constant torment from others. But we as north supporters love our club more than any other club by a long way, and to be honest, I love this club more as a small club. I love it like this because I feel as if i know all the other North supporters, that I could go and talk to them and they would understand, talk back. This is because our supporters are naturally good people. I have never met or seen of a North supporter that starts fights with others., that swears in front of kids or acts bad. The club is part of us all.

North melbourne is the club that the papers never give attention to, commentators constantly pronounce our players names wrong. our victories are considered as another teams poor performance, and a loss is a result of what will be the beggining of the end. but we stand through. And a great statistic to show this is that in the last decade, North Melbourne has came back to win every time after losing by 100 points. That there is shinboner spirit.

Brad Scott, a second year coach, realised something that only a North Melbourne associated person can know. The win after the dogs game this year, he realised what shinboner spirit truely is, its not just an historic name, it is a title that claims us to fight on, to keep fighting, to fight when the chips are down. Because we are North Melbourne.

I'd  like to thank north melbourne for changing me as a person. It has made me stand up for the little guy. Never give up on my team. Never give up on myself. This club is my life. go the roo boys!!!!

We all know what North Melbourne means.

North Melbourne means being schooled at the ‘True Supporters School of Hard Knocks’. Developed in early school yard playgrounds a North supporter is often by themselves, you know what I mean, when the teacher went around the room and asked students to put their hands up for which team they barracked for, you knew by the time it got to North Melbourne you were the only one who was going to put your hand up…. and you did.

Sure there may have been someone you met in the early years who whispered to you they were a North supporter, but sooner rather than later they like the rest of them got weak around the knees and turned to the dark side. Yes they probably joined numerous fellow students who barracked for one of those other teams, be it Carlton, Collingwood, or Essendon (God I hate them).

Some people say there is something unique about North Melbourne. Your God damned right there is, a North supporter is the most dedicated tested. When kids who support one of the other teams lost, they hid behind each other until their team won their next game. There is no where to hide for a North supporter. When North lost you knew they were coming, you knew you were on your own against a group of over enthusiastic smart arses who would try their hardest to put North down. But you never let them. As a North supporter they came for you because they see you as easy prey. This is why being a North supporter is unique. Because being on your own there is a hell of a lot more riding on a loss or a win, on a bump or a tackle.

The media doesn’t champion our wins. It’s always a bad loss for the other teams. When we lose a couple of games in a row it’s, ‘which state is North Melbourne going to base itself in next’.

It is for these such reasons that North supporters victories are so sweet. Who could forget the elation at beating Carlton in 99, or the way we celebrated after beating Essendon in the 1998 finals series. None of us who grew up in the North West of Melbourne will ever forget that one. Here is something Essendon supporters have never understood, we didn’t throw those marshmallows at Sheedy just because of the way he tried to bully North Melbourne prior to the game, no, the force behind those marshmallows was the letting out of one hundred years of those tactics by Essendon supporters towards North Melbourne supporters.

To all of you young North supporters, who haven’t felt the elation of North winning a premiership yet, be comforted by this. North Melbourne Football Club supporters taste premiership success much, much sweeter than others do, because you have had to overcome much greater crap along the journey. At which point you will look at other North supporters and see in them what you know of yourself, that is they are the truest of supporters.

North Melbourne means us!

Go Roos!

Erica Pollard
Everything. They won their first premiership in 1975 and I was there it was fantastic, I stood there and cried 50 years we had waited. We have earned the hard way every premiership we have. We fight every adversity that is thrown at us and we win. We do not get things handed us on a platter like some clubs. They give us the worst of everything, we are put down at every opportunity but our fighting spirit comes out all the time. We are simply North Melbourne.

I have friends I started going to the games in 1962 with and we are still going and also I have new friends as well. North Melbourne people are the friendliest supporters I know. The players and coaches we have had and now have are simply the best. you cannot go past players such as Noel Teasdale, Peter Steward, Malcolm Blight, Keith Greig,Wayne Carey, glen Archer and current players such as Brett Harvey and Drew Petrie just a name a few. My Passion will never die I am simply North Melbourne forever.

Jarrett
At the end of a hard week, with blood sweat and tears, the one constant, the one highlight of my week is the boys of the Shinboner breed!

We all love our teams, and we all love footy, but when my boys give their all, no matter the result, on goes my North top proud to be part of it and take on what consequences are in store. We ride every bump, we take every tackle and all we ask is that they give their all. For its not only the players that must answer for their actions, its the supporters that take the flack for their teams effort.

And for the most, my North boys never give me the reason to be ashamed of our colours as I know they will proudly give their utmost and never let me down.

Paul and Lisa
The Kangas are my team through good or bad they are my team .

You can’t be a glory chaser being a fan of the kangas just a gritty diehard fan!

Living in the country as a kid in the 80’s the footy was a real treat .

I remember going to see us play Hawthorn at the G and get flogged by 100 points. Fitzroy at the Junction Oval and getting belted by 100 points .

Still that didn’t bother me it was my team through thick and thin .

Now as an adult living in Sydney in there are many AFL expats who have become Swans fans simply because they now reside here!

Never, not on your life, not for the Opera House nor Harbour Bridge!

The Kangas are my team and I’m happy being a Kangas missionary in the harbour city!

Spreading the Roos gosbel !!

Ken Newall
I was a passionate Fitzroy supporter who vowed never to attend football again after the club was betrayed by both the AFL and the other clubs in the competition. I favoured and was looking forward to the merger with the Roos. It took me years to even consider choosing another team, but the fighting spirit of the Kangaroos and their fans won me over. I am a totally committed fan and have been a member for nine years. Although what happened to Fitzroy still hurts becoming a Roos supporter is one of the best decisions of my life. Thanks to James and the team for the fabulous job they have done and for ensuring the future of the club in Victoria. GO THE ROOS!!!!

North Melbourne means -the winning Grand Final of ,77. The last Grnny my paternal Grand father got to see. One month later he died. I still dont know what team in Melbourne he liked. Coming from Colac in the western districts of Victoria it had to be the Colac Tigers affiliated with Geelong. And where have quite a few of the Roo players come from
- Geelong. Sara J.

I'm approaching 60, living and working in the NT - a Schimma Platinum True Roo for Life member I will make it to at least 6 of our home games this season. I clearly remember listening to the drawn GF in 1977 live via Radio Australia whilst on a Pacific Cruise - at least a 100 of us (many were Collingwood supporters) tuned in somewhere between Tahiti and NZ. Arrived back in OZ in time to watch the replay - I played the game for years in Vic & NT then umpired for many more. Supporting North Melbourne has been a lifelong passion that has never waned. Go Roos! Colin

Ben Stevens
What North means to me? Well it means several things to me. Firstly the shinboner spirit, coming back from impossible deficits to win. I can see the parallel between this and our aussie spirit of never backing down when the going gets tough and coming back. My two idols Brent Harvey and Glenn Archer not only embody this spirit, but also represent this club with pride. Brent Harvey is the gentlemen of the club who gives his valuable time and access to our fans. Glenn Archer the definition of tough and the master of the hip and shoulder. Pride is what comes to mind when l think of the North Melbourne football club. I do what l can to watch or listen to north play and haven't missed a match in ten years. As a New South Welshman, l love this club and also enjoy the rivalry between north and the swans. I always enjoy it when we beat the swans. Go North. Ben Stevens.

Joe Spicuglia
North Melbourne means so much to me and my family. As a small boy, I got to see North win the flag(1996). To this day, I have complete dedication to my club. North Melbourne means to never give in. To make other teams fear us, making them think we could beat them even if we arent having a good season. North Melbourne means the most family friendly team, having the cleanest and most passionate supporters. North means kicking the classic goal through the corridor. North melbourne means my week with a lost voice, spent all on supporting the boys. North means never changing sides. North means my life, and i'd be nothing without them! GO ROOS!!!!

Annette and Peter Tabone
Well to me North Melbourne means a never say die attitude when faced with diversity instead face it head on and crush whatever gets in our way, a loyal team who you would love to have in the trenches watching your back knowing that we will fight to the end arms in arms. A team that inspires me to set out and achieve whatsoever my goals may be in a honest and dignified way and to wear my colours of the blue and white with pride and joy and rejoice in the fact that I support one of the most honest teams that over the years have given me so much pleasure and to keep the famous shinboner tradition going for many years to come. Finally to stand amongst other North Melbourne members and cheer my heart and lungs out to get my team over the line in a game that is truly Australian and never to be taken for granted

Brayden Cook
North Melbourne means kicking an awesome goal. North Melbourne means hitting the poster and bouncing back to kick a goal. North Melbourne means to stand up for your club, even when others doubt how great they are. North Melbourne means to come back from behind and win. North Melbourne means to prepare one decade and then the next be the best team in the league. North Melbourne means to have some of the best records out there. North Melbourne means to never say no, to never give up, TO NEVER SAY DIE!

NORTH MELBOURNE MEANS TO WIN!

Paul and Rowena Sladdin
Honesty, Integrity, Commitment. What more can you ask for in a team? Go Roos!

Damien
I have blue and white running through my veins, this football club means the world to me with their never say die attitude they are a great inspiration and would have to be the most passionate club by a long mile in the league, 2011 will be a great year just keep showing the pride and spirit you do every year boys and we'll be alright. GO THE MIGHTY KANGAS.

Mark Simari
North Melbourne Football Club means the world to me. When anyone asks how many children I have, I tell them 4, they are Charlotte, Oliver, Archie and North Melbourne. It is unconditional love until the day l die!

Mark Dickenson
Some clubs represent simple geographical areas or different social classes, but North Melbourne FC represents extraordinary tenacity in the face of tyranny, apathy and bloody-mindedness. This is the team that no-one wants, no-one understands, the black sheep of the family that refuses to fade into insignificance.

Being a North Melbourne supporter means knowing that the deck is always stacked against you and you’ll never get a fair go. You know that your team will be lied to and lied about, underappreciated and undermined, that your victories will be seen as other teams’ failures and your failures will be seen as signs of your imminent demise. But through it all you know that you’re the guardian of something uniquely pure and noble, something truly Australian - a deep spark that the ‘mighty’, in all their appalling grandeur, can never destroy. North Melbourne is the Anzac spirit, the Eureka Stockade, the last stand of the improbable in the face of eternally overwhelming odds. To me, North Melbourne is the flickering flame of hope that I cherish no matter the obstacles, threats and fears I may encounter in my life. As North Melbourne perseveres, so I may persevere. North Melbourne, as a club and a community, is everything I value in humanity, and through the efforts of the players, staff and supporters, everything I strive to be as a man.

Suzi Olsen
What does north melbourne mean to me? A lot really. They are the main reason why I barrack for the club. The players are all caring and are approachable. The coach is awesome and he got me signed up as a member. Yeah I am still over the moon that he's coach btw.

I went to the family day in December last year and really enjoyed it. Thought that it was awesome. Being able to go and talk to the players was really cool and getting them to sign a card for a friend of mine who was unable to travel due to sickness, made her day as well as mine.

I was totally overwhelmed on the day, and was very shy (which is what I am like normally) around the spectators. Having the support of the players and the coach made me feel comfortable. (I think Brad was also a bit on the shy side too...)

I have now re-signed up as a north member and have grown closer to the club. Will not be changing teams ever again. These guys are the best team in the afl.... North are the best! Here's hoping we reach Brad Scott's goal of playing deep in September and go one further and win the flag.

Andrew Linsdell
My earliest memory of the North Melbourne Football Club is getting a fifty off my old man after the 1977 grand final when he came home cashed up and a little worse for wear. But lately I've had reason to think about what the club means to me and those that I love.

My father being born and raised in Ascot Vale gave us no choice and we were annointed North supporters before the first breath was taken. His uncle(Peter Hamilton) played for the boners so I dare say it was the same for him. I have eight brothers and sisters and apart from one(there always has to be one}the Kangaroos are the common thread. My little brother being 14 years my junior and I connected and bonded because of the blue and white stripes. We spent most of the nineties chanting the praises of the Duck and marvelling the gonads on Arch. As I grew older, had my own family and moved away we didn't see each other as much but when we did catch up it was usually at the football and as our interests changed we always had the mighty rooboys in common.

About a month ago I lost my little brother in a car accident. He was buried to the sound of the North Melbourne theme song and draped in a North Melbourne jumper (signed by the boys, thanks guys). I still haven't watched a game of football as it still hurts but i'll return shortly and those blue and white stripes will mean more to me than ever. His face will always be a part of that jumper. If i had to sum it up in a word on what the North Melbourne Football Club means to me, the word is family. GO ROOBOYS.

Robert Hogg
My father didn't quite make it to 1975 so sadly he missed North's first grand final win - he had hoped for 70 years to see a flag. I was born in North Melbourne during the depression, we moved to Prahran when dad found work in a dairy in 1938. We caught the tram or train to the footy, Dad, me and my two brothers.

An early memory was of Sol Murray with the footy record in his sock looking to the scoreboard to see what won the third race at Flemington. If he had backed it you could guarantee he'd kick three goals in the quarter. Bad luck if his bet ran last.

After the game we usually stopped at my Aunts for a snack in Haines Street before catching the tram home. Sometimes, post Sol we would be joined by Jock Spencer, Teddy Jarrard, Les Foote (and there was a great footballer) and other North heroes. They'd just enjoyed a cold shower before leaving the ground. And they were contenders by then.

I was at the final in 1949? when they played Essendon. In the North crowd nearby was the local butcher holding two ox shinbones, still with flesh hanging, wrapped with North's colours. We, of course were robbed that day when Jock wasn't paid a mark and John Coleman was despite the best efforts of Jock McCorkell - a truly top full back. 1975 for me was somewhat anti-climatic for reasons that take too long to tell. But 1977 was very enjoyable - not because by then I was living in Collingwood - but because we could go back next week and enjoy another top game. I've lived in Sydney these past 20 years or so - but still hanker for Arden Street. Keep faith - the team is building and has great potential.

Shayden Hare
To me when North cross that white line I am no longer a supporter, I'm a part of the team, that's what North does to me.. it makes me feel a part of something, not just an AFL club but a community, a community filled with courage, fight and shinbonner spirit. Being a part of North Melbourne not only gives me courage on the football field as a player but in myself as a person. North, thank you for everything.

Jordan Flood
My name is Jordan Flood and I am 12 years old. As a young child, around the age of two, my family and I were in Melbourne staying in Arden St. We decided to walk over to the ground and the Kangaroos were training at the time. When we arrived I burst into tears because I didn't want to be there, but as soon as we went to leave, I burst into tears beacuse I didn't want to leave and I have been a passionate supporter ever since.

In the small town I live in, we barely get any of the Kangaroos games broadcasted on TV, but I love to listen to the game on the radio or follow it on the internet.I live blue & white & growing up in a family of collingwood supporters, I have been conned into following the pies but it has never worked and never will. Luckily I have supportive parents who have taken me to see my favourite boys play live and it is something that will be a part of me for the rest of my life! Go Kangaroos!

Angela Sipka
To me, North Melbourne isn't just a football club. It's a club that understands what winning and losing is. They are the Kangaroos - presented on the coat of arms and an importance to our cultural history. It's uniting two royal colours and presenting them as one. It's having that feeling of knowing where you belong.

People always scoff when I tell them I go for North Melbourne, but I just think 'what are they going on about? I go for the best team in the whole league, and they don't know what they are missing out on.' I am a proud North supporter, and I couldn't think of changing teams. Not now, not ever. North Melbourne all the way!!

Ray Hanczar
Alan Aylett was my dentist and I worked for Charlie Mantello, brother of Albert, who was at that time a director at North when I first became interested in AFL footy. I used to go to the Carlton games with my brother in law, more for the company than anything else and after realising that I liked the game I asked him who was on the bottom of the ladder. He told me it was North. I always support the battler and because of my afore mentioned conections I decided to follow the Roos. Well the next year we got Barassi as coach and the rise up the ladder was rapid and exciting. Then we won our first flag in 1975,..Oh what bliss. I sang myself hoarse. I hardly missed a game since 1973, through good times and bad so IkKnow that the cycle is turning our way again. I live in Qld. now and watch every game on tv but will support the mighty Roo boys till I die (am still a member).

Chris
One of my earliest memories is the strange transformation that overcame Dad when his Barassi led shinboners took the paddock. The final chorus of  'Up there Cazaly' marked the last moments of sanity in our house for the next two hours. I loved to watch, both the footy and his reaction to it, as he cheered and jeered with unabated emotion. A rare sight from this usually calm and rational man, evidence of the depth of emotion that our great club can engender.

Since your dad knows everything that’s worth knowing when you’re 5, there were a few things I could be sure of. The Blues are dirty. Blighty never hit anyone who didn’t have it coming. The MCG is the centre of Australia. The Kangaroos are my team.

As I got older my dad had less influence and I began to make up my own mind about the world. One thing never changed, blue and white was in my blood. I still cherish Dad’s account of the great Barassi days, or 'that goal' at the mention of Malcolm Blight. I also love the impressions that were left on me as the club moved through an era I witnessed myself. The glorious 90’s. The rise and fall of a king. Fearless Arch. Desperate victories, crushing defeat. Near collapse and determined revival. Hope for the future and pride in our heritage. This club gives me a mantra to live by and an ethos to be proud of. It’s the battle against all odds. It’s mateship, family and the fierce loyalty that comes with both. It’s the security in knowing that we will try and sometimes fail, but we’ll never, ever, ever give up.

Peter O'Brien
Football has always been my first love and blue and white was born through my veins. I remember heading to Arden Street and the other suburban grounds in the cheer squad from a very young age (from late 70's).

I always wanted to grow up playing for the roos with the likes of Blighty, Greig and Schimma. Unfortunately, not good enough I had to settle for watching the likes of the 'King', 'Arch' and now 'Boomer' bring the Roos home to victory.

Now living in WA I have three kids who all support North Melbourne. We never miss a game and all try and convince anybody who will listen that barracking for the Roos is the only way to go! Of course this can be a difficult proposition in the West! I am hoping to take my 8 and 6 year old over to Melbourne later this year to see the Roos for the first time live.

North Melbourne has and always will be a part of my life! I love the club and it has given me some of the greatest moments of my live involving premierships and shinboner wins.

Go Roos...Continue the fight!

Leanne Rankin
North Melbourne Football Club - Hearts to hearts and hands to hands, beneath the blue and white we stand, we shout good bless our native land - North Melbourne North Melbourne! What more can I say.

My father has supported the Roos since the age of 5 years, having grown up in the Western suburbs, travelling by train alone to watch his beloved Roos. We have been raised to be proud of the North Melbourne spirit and have followed the club throughout our lives, being part of the glorious premierships and in times of despair. We as a family (3 generations) have blue and white coursing through our veins, with a sense of pride and loyality that is forever North Melbourne. The club is a delight, a family bond and most importantly considered a part of our extended family.

We continue to attend most games, attend the VFL to support the up and coming stars of the future, with numerous discussions throughout the week.

A the end of the day, win or lose, we love our Roo Boys and Spirit of the North Melbourne Kangaroos!!!!!!

Vlad Minaker
North means plenty to me. It's more than just part of life, it's the way of life. It's something that MUST be passed on and be preserved for my children.

At the end of the day, NMFC is like family. It's the reason we don't move interstate for a job, it's the reason we plan our holiday around matches, it's the reason we buy some clothes in certain colour, it's the reason the kids name their dolls in a certain way, it's the reason we are what we are.

Daniel
North Melbourne - never say die. Fight against all odds. Strength through passion, commitment and courage against adversity. This is North Melbourne, we are North Melbourne.

Vin
North Melbourne to me represent the level playing field in the AFL competition. Without the bells and whistles of some clubs, we represent the honest endevour of the underdog. Through most of the 3 decades I've supported the club, we have stood above all in terms of consistency, courage, determination and mateship. I love this club as this as above all else it represents the word team like no other.

Guy
North is pretty specIal to me, and I'm only 15 and I watch every game and hear games on the radio when it's on Fox Sports. I was a bit dissapointed against Essendon, but they deserved it, and I always look on the bright side and realised Essendon was throwing everything at us with 3 crucial injuries and still was right up there with them, it will be good if we can make the finals this year but im telling you now North will play a grand final in the future with the great young team we have such as Harvey, Swallow, Petrie, Greenwood, Cunnington, Wells, Edwards and so on.

Just like to say hi to Brad Scott and just want to say I always stand by you and the club through every bit of emotion and times to get this team to September and watch them win since Wayne Carey in the 90's and want to show the league the true meaning of North Melbourne and the SHINBONERS. From your loyal young fan

Kerry Sly
North Melbourne mean everything to me being a supporter from way back and being a member for many years I am blue in one eye, white in the other. Been through the good times and the bad but will always support my team the mighty Kangas.

Chelsea Luberacki
The kangas are the best!! Even though we arent' the best in the competition, I don't care... the guys always try their best and i believe that one day we will be the premiers again. I am one of the only girls at school that LOVES watching the footy and because I live in Perth not many people support North, but I don't care what other people think. The footy games on TV over here are never the Kangas so I always make sure I am home at the right times so I can go on the computer and watch the live commentary. It isn't as good as watching it on TV but it is good enough. I watch the repeats of the games and vote every week for my favourite players. I love Andrew Swallow. Ever since he began playing I knew he was gonna be a star. So I have been his number one fan and I still am. I love North Melbourne and I will be one of their supporters forever and always... GO THE ROOS!!! xx

Bobs
Five generations of my family have followed North Melbourne... My grandparents had a store in Queansberry Street back in the 1920's - 30's. The Club is part of my life, no matter the win/loss ratio. The pride of the players for the North jumper never varies from group to group. Reality dictates that North will need to play interstate games to make money .... this doesn't bother me. All those "members/supporters" who want North to stay viable in Melbourne ... BUY A MEMBERSHIP

Deborah Mutten
Well what can I say? North Melbourne has given me and my family so much fun and pleasure over a life time.

We have so much history in our family that is related to North Melbourne. I am from the Montgomerys, Stewart and Marshall clan. All families have played active roles with North and still do. I am a descendant of Williams James Montgomery born August 22nd 1873, died 1st June 1950 who played for North Melbourne in 1896 to 1904.

So what does North mean to me? Proud proud proud. Luv the roos.

Richard
Memories good and bad, the joy of watching with my parents when we won or lost , getting to see friends play, having players come to our school and take sessions, running for the little league, queuing for finals tickets at Arden Street. Would not swap any of this ever. But most of all it means belonging.

Colin Guye
The only club in the land that loves you (the supporters) as much as you love it.

Family, respect, loyalty, determination and undying pursuit of bettering what we already have.

These are just words that describe the culture and spirit of the place. These are the words that ring true in the hearts of all North people.

"Hearts to hearts "........ you know the rest. Go Roo Boys!

Tony Stern
The North Melbourne Football Club means everything to me. I could never follow another team if North fell out of the AFL, that's how much the club means to me. I have followed North my whole life, my kids have followed in the same direction, my heart breaks when we lose and my heart is full of joy when we win. I know that if North had have moved to the gold coast, we were going to move up there as well.

Josh
EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ed & Cheryl S
North Melbourne means everything to our family. The North Melbourne Football club epitomizes toughness, determination, courage, persistence in the face of adversity and humility. We may not be the wealthiest of the Victorian clubs or have the largest in terms of members, but our members are passionate and a real strong community when you attend regularly. North Melbourne FC also has great spirit and should always remain in Melbourne. North Melbourne Forever!!!!

Rhonda Gardiner
North Melbourne Football Club means everything to my family. My husband's family are the founders of North Melbourne and we are very proud of our heritage and connection with this great club. Proud North Melbourne members for life.

Mark Acker
The Kangas share the same spirit as I do, we never give up, we have faith in each other. Every game I have watched, every player always played their heart out. Whether we win or lose I am proud to watch us play and happy to see such brilliance on the football ground. I just gotta luv em.

Paul Rodset
North Melbourne represents hope. It represents my faith. I am up when we win and down when we lose. The 1996 premiership helped me through the darkness of skin cancer, whilst the King's departure was devastating. We are the team that all supporters respect due to the levels of success we have achieved with limited resources. A proud club with a successful tradition always looking outside the square to enhance the club.

Wade Guye
Named after Doug Wade. Born October 2 1975 probably a few days after North's first flag. Destined to barrack for the roos.

Love our history, our present and our future. Most Roos supporters are kind people. Just like our players and club officials. Never give up.

Ian Pirie
I arrived in Australia in 1971 from England with my parents, I was eight years old. When I started school here my friends were asking me who I barracked for. At first I did not understand what this meant but when I did they said I should barrack for Carlton or Collingwood. At the time I recall that North was not doing particularly well but as they were the Kangaroos I thought what more Australian can you get. So I decided to support North. I was picked on because of this but that only served to increase my steely resolve. As time went by the club's success improved particularly in the 70's and I became the stirrer.

There have been times, especially in the 80's when I thought why am I supporting our club but despite this I have continued to support them.

North Melbourne to me has always put their first foot forward to help grow the game and inspire the widening development of the growing AFL that we see today. Playing interstate, night football, possible mergers, we have been involved in it all.

Now I am proud to say that I am a member of a club that has to fight for respect and everything it can get in such a competitive environment and I applaud our club for its continued innovation and supportive environment in which our young players can and do develop.

Now I have a family of seven sons and whenever I have attended a player function for the children the players have treated my boys with absolute respect, always willing to give their time without complaint. These are the important off-field cultures and values which are the basis of the club which will see us continue to thrive into the future.

I will continue to be passionate about our club and I urge all our supporters to become members so that our great club can grow to be one of the powerhouses of the AFL.

Tim
North Melbourne footy team has been a rich vein of culture in my life. As I have followed it since age 4 I have mirrored an existance of hard edged working class survival, minority status, repudiation and tenacity, even some ups. The team to my mind is the marginalised brilliant survivor of the league. Brady Rawlings is the man I'd rank as my favorite current player. Behind the scenes doing a great job and galvanising a team.

One Thursday night during the Gold Coast relocation debate a couple of years ago I was walking through North Melbourne with a friend and I walked into Arden Street. I sat on the old bar seat next to the players race where I had grown up in the late '70s and early '80s. All of those marvellous memories came flooding back from the 100 point win against Carlton in 1983, to being covered in mud as an eight year old a year earlier. As I sat at Arden Street that night I recalled the role this club has played in mine and all those who follow this club. North Melbourne is a significant part of my life, and who I am. I love hearing our theme song before each game and definitely so aftwerwards! I am and will always be a part of the North family. When I was 5, I wanted to go for Essendon. My Dad said you can see them twice a year, when they play North! Every day I am glad for that. Go Roos!

Robert Brent
Kangas shinboner spirit means everything to me, when things turn bad in life, it's that same attitude that helps me stand back up and try again and if I have trouble with that, seeing Archer stop a player with his determination, or seeing Boomer break through the opposition's defence and kick a running goal is always enough to put me in a great mood.

Michael Hua
The history and culture of the North Melbourne Football Club reflects the life I have lived and the way I live life and that is why they are the team I follow, support and love.

Since the beginnings, throughout our history and until this day our beloved club has faced much adversity but not only have we survived against all the odds, we have triumphed.

We are not the most successful club and we are far from the richest club but we are one of the most fortunate clubs, if not the most fortunate, to have such a great community of players, members and die-hard fans.

For me I find this legacy heartening because I’m not rich and I haven’t made it to the big time yet, but I’m doing all I can to be successful in my goals and I will stop at nothing to get there just like my fellow shinboners at North Melbourne Football Club.

Stephen Bennett
The North Melbourne football club means to me a group of people that give me joy, frustration, amusement, pride and most of all a feeling within that I have, when life gets really tough I can draw from the shinboners spirit and get up off the ground and try harder. That is a special and unique feeling to have and I believe the true North Melbourne people and I share that special character. Go Roos.

Barbara Preston
I have been a passionate North Melbourne supporter since I was a child - am now 72. I attend every match I can and would never change my allegiance to any other club. I love the spirit of the club and admire their attitide of never giving up despite the very mediocre publicity they get in the press. I hope I'll be watching them play for many more years.

Alex
Being a North supporter means sharing experiences. Sharing the euphoria when the team wins, when a young player debuts, when against adversity the club triumphs, to the lows of a bad loss, talk about relocation and funding. Through all of this a small army of supporters unite and support. It's what makes our club so great.

From when I was born, I was born into a die hard Kangas family. North is in my blood, they are so much of my life

Kim Gude
I grew up in a family where it was necessary to be able to recite every current player and their corresponding number! I grew up in a family where my mother was that crazy lady from the 90's, the one that was always on the tv, filming football shows from our lounge room and I kinda didn't blink an eye cos good on her.. That is how I grew up! That is how my love of North began, and that is exactly how my children's love of North began! North means to me something I cannot put into words, something that was indescribable to me as a young person and something that is no doubt indescribable to my own kids! My parents bought me up thinking that the only thing that mattered was North..As a result I spent my teenage years wanting to do nothing more than spend my time being a dedicated Kangas supporter! I have strived for the past 5 years to instill the same values into my own children! It's a community, it's a family, it's everything you ever wished for..and i was born into it. Lucky, lucky me.

Louise Dunleavy
North Melbourne is the reason my Dad and I are so close. We always go to the games together when we can. He brainwashed me to North when I was about three years old and I have loved North ever since.

Dad severely injured himself a few days before the Richmond vs North game and he told me to go with my Uncle. I said no, because its something WE did together. North Melbourne has given me another reason to argue with my sisters (who both go for Essendon). We may not be the biggest club, but every North supporter seems to know everybody else which makes going to games fun because we can catch up with members we think we know, and even if we don't, who cares. My friends often change their teams every year, but I will never change from North. No matter how good or bad we are doing, I will always support the blue and white. No matter how many times my mum has tried to bring me to the dark side (Essendon) she always fails. Sorry Mum, but when you first become a Kanga, you always stay a Kanga. Thanks North.

Danelle Dias
North Melbourne means crying through the tough times and singing the club song with joy during the good times. It means clapping the boys off after a disappointing performance and sticking 'round to wave the blue and white flag after a win. North Melbourne means that we remain proud, regardless of our position on the ladder. It means to be a part of a family spread across the country who bleed the blue and white. To me, North Melbourne means passion and a club I love being a part of.

Steve
North Melbourne to me means 'Pride'. Pride in the jumper. Pride in the lifetime friends I have met at the games. Pride in overcoming adversity time and time again. Pride in knowing the fact that in my 43 years I have seen four premierships. Most of all pride in my family who have followed this magnificent club for generations. This club is built on PRIDE!

Leon Musca
Ever since a young boy I have fell in love with the North Melbourne Football Club and will remain a supporter to the day I die. I live in Perth surrounded by Freo and West Coast supporters and every time the Roos are playing at Subiaco I make sure I am there waving the flag and dressed in the blue and white. I've experienced the glory of the 1996 and 1999 grand final and the pain over the years but I can assure you I will remain a rooboy to the day I die. Best club in history!!

NORTH MELBOURNE IS MY LIFE FOR SIX MONTHS OF THE YEAR.

North Melbourne Footy Club means leaving home early morning to pack the cheer squad bus, and getting home late. Losing my voice week after week, making banners for the past 20 years. It's going to the footy week after week, no matter where on the ladder we are. The last game in Melbourne I missed was in 1997. It means supporting the top players, the young players and the rookies which is why I go to all the Werribee games where the fixture allows. North Melbourne means so much to so many and all for different reasons. North Melbourne means home away from home.

Donald Banks
From my days growing up in WA the only VFL we saw was 1 hour of the winners on TV a week. I soon took a liking to North and loved watching Barry Cable play. I can remember Malcolm Blight's torp, it stuck in my memory for ever. I now live in Vic and have not wavered from my love for this great club. They are the working man's club. We struggle, don't have as much as other clubs and this makes our wins all the more special. My 11 year old son is also a North follower, we often watch old tapes of games. He loves the Roos too and he knows we do it tough.

Can't say much more, this is one hell of a club and lets hope we are still going strong in another 100 years. Keep up all the good work that all at the club are doing, it's a credit to your resolve, another premiership is not to far away.

Dael
All I have to say is....
North Melbourne is my religion
Arden Street is my church
Brent harvey is my god.

Michael Richards
I was never really into football until my sister in law who was living in melbourne told me about these two brothers who lived next door to her. Their names were Jimmy and Phil, she said to watch them on the telly so I tuned in and they were playing at the MCG in the rain, I was amazed at their skills and before you knew it I was and still am a die hard Kangaroos supporter, although not a member yet. I will never change teams ever!

Matthew Smith
I'm 13 and North Melbourne Football Club means the world to me. I've got about 6 jumpers and I just love the club. I feel its a good idea to play some home games in Hobart to show Tassie that we're a team to barrack for. Also I am annoyed that we only get to play 3 or 4 games at the MCG and they're all away games. I wouldn't barrack for anyone else if they left the AFL.

Andrew MacMillan
North Melbourne means never giving up. No matter how hopeless the fight may seem, how dark the tunnel appears or how hard the road is, never surrender. Fight for what is right and what you believe in. That is North Malbourne to me.

Adrian
North Melbourne makes Victorian winters awesome. Since being in Vic from Tas, me and my 2 girls have been members and love it. We go to all home games and some away. Nothing better than a five year old girl singing GOOOOOOO ROOOOOOOS!!!!!

Beki Bennett
I have only two big passions in life, one is The Bill and the other is North Melbourne. Now The Bill is ending North will be my only big passion in life!

I've been supporting North since I was 9 (about 14 years now). I will never forget the day I started following North as it was the day that changed my life. 1996 Grand Final day when the only players I could remember were Wayne Carey and Shannon Grant (I thought he was cute!). It's kind of funny really because I only picked North because everyone at my friend's house were going for Sydney that day so I chose to be a good sport and picked North. I have never looked back.

First player I ever met was Drew Petrie when he was 19! It was down Risdon Vale way in Tasmania. I was roughly 2nd person to get his autograph because everyone lined up for David King and Troy Makepeace so I kept Drew company for a few minutes... he was very shy and quiet... then met him again a coule of years ago and he is a different person! Confidence just oozes out of him now. I also remember meeting Jason McCartney just 4 months after the Bali Bombings, that was a day to remember. :)

I always considered myself a 'lucky' supporter because North enriched my first 5 years of being a supporter with consecutive finals appearances! I know not many people aren't that lucky when they pick a team to support.

I stick by my boys through thick and thin and will never be caught dead supporting any other team.

Another thing I love about North is how the players recognise some of their supporters. Both Drew and Brady Rawlings recognised me from Tasmanian clinics from a few years ago... it wasn't something I expected.

I have also been enriched with a great friendship with Robbie Tarrant (been friends for over a year now) and to see him finally get a couple of games was magical.

North Melbourne is my life, because of this club I'm enriched with new friendships all the time with players and supporters, I now base my big yearly 2 week long holiday around Family Day! If I didn't have North Melbourne my life wouldn't have the meaning it has now!

Julie Pullen
North Melbourne is my life and I often say that I have blue and white blood. 29 years now I have been a member. I grew up in a Fitzroy dominated household because my father and grandfather played for them however I wanted to be different to everyone else. Something (and I still can't explain it to this day) stood out about North and I was told by my family they would support me changing teams if I supported them with my heart and soul. I have certainly done that. I was a member of the Cheer Squad as a kid and I used to travel by train by myself every Friday after school to go and make the banner, as well as jumping on a train on my own to go to the various grounds we played at. Now at age 41 I still go to every game I can, have brainwashed my 3 year-old twin boys and converted my Husband and Step-son from Collingwood and we have all become True Roo's for Life because that is exactly what we will be.

Andrew Schembri
North is a big part of my life. After losing my club - Fitzroy, I was completely disenchanted by footy. I was completely prepared for and even looking forward to the merger with North.

After growing to love North and having a connection with its culture, I spent a lot of time and effort doing what I could to prevent the Gold Coast relocation.

I'm continuing to spread the culture. My dad's a member, and now I have a 6 month old Baby Joey.

Brad Wright
Everything.

Dean Clayton
North Melbourne means the world to me, They determine if I have a good weekend or not and I couldnt imagine my life without them.

Lynden Bullow
Nothing means more to me than my footy (except for family), and in saying that nothing's more important than the Roos. I've followed the Roos for 13 years, since I was born! The favourites over the years have been Glenn Archer, Adam Simpson & now it's Drew Petrie. I just hope that sooner or later (hopefully at least next year!) We'll win the premiership! Have a good one!

Martin Carter
I'm 40 years old and mad on footy, always have been. None of my family are passionate about football, I guess its just ingrained into some people, The Roos were going pretty well as I remember as a young 4 or 5 year old so I guess that and actually having a pet Kangaroo made the Roos a perfect fit for me. I've always been proud to be a North man, even when we werent traveling so well, Its a feeling I have always had that being a North supporter actually stood for something more than just the footy. I have always be able to draw on something from the examples set by its great players to help me in my own footy and in life, a great sense of team-mateship is what I've always felt whether up or down and that's important. There could have been no better thing than being a North supporter through the nineties although I'm still hurting over '98 as I'm sure we all are. Anyway this new era, top shelf board members, new facilities, new coach and great list is so exciting. I like what is ahead for this great club and I will be strapped in enjoying and supporting every step of the way. I now live in India and still get on the website every day, I listen to every game religiously and watch every reply on the net. Go Kangas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sandra O'Shea
When i think of footy, i think of my life as a kid. Sitting on the couch next to my dear old dad, and cheerin' the Kangaroos on. Meat pies and sauce and goin' to the G to watch the night footy. I have been a supporter of the Roos for as long as i can remember. I still remember wearing Malcolm Blight's number on the back of my duffle coat!! The Kangaroos means to me the same as my dad does...the humble aussie battler.!! The Kangas means a lot to me. It is the main subject of conversation when i call my dad. We can talk for ages about our Roos. I have always been, and always will be a North Melbourne supporter. There is no other. KANGAROOS 4 EVER!

Karyn Wilson
The North Melbourne Club is a fabulous family tradition that my family and I take great pride and passion in supporting.

It's being taken to Arden Street in a pram as a baby on the 'inner' side of the ground, playing on the terraces and catching the occasional glimpse of the game.

Never winning a day game in the '60's but somehow being able to win night premierships that made us all proud.

Sitting in the grandstand at Arden Street with assorted grandmothers, mothers, aunties and cousins.

Watching the rise of a an exciting team in the early '70s and hoping against hope that a premiership was at last in sight. And it was. The first premiership in 1975 such rapture after so much hardship. At last the Kangas had made it. To prove the point we won another premiership in 1977 and I was there to see that too.

I married, had children and of course the very first thing I did when my children were born was to sing the theme song to them ... they all became Kanga supporters too, they had no choice.

A bit of a hiatus and then the emergence of a wonderful coach in the form of a past player, Denis Pagan and of course his wonderful superstar - Wayne Carey. To be a Kangas supporter in the '90s were the stuff dreams were made of.

Our never die spirit and attitude meant we were never going to leave our home in Melbourne, we would rather die than be relocated.

Barracking for the mighty Kangas over 40 years has been a wonderful ride and I am so proud of our young up and coming team and our gritty coach, Chris Scott. Go the might Rooboys!

Tiahn Dugdale
North Melbourne means a lot to me because my Great Uncle John Dugdale played for them and most people in my family go for them!! They also won the premiership in 1996 the year I was born and I am pretty sure they won the day after I was born so you could say  I went for them since I was born!! I can't wait for them to come back on top and win again with me to support them all the way!

Joshua Hamilton
I was bleeding the mighty blue and white from birth born. Now 18 years of age and nothing has changed, I'm still in love with the mighty NORTH MELBOURNE Footy Club through the ups and downs I stood in a proud manner. Without the North Melbourne Footy Club what point is there for not living, it means that much to me!!!

Brad O'Shea
North Melbourne and AFL are an important part of my life. It is always inspirational to watch the guys do their thing. I was raised as a North supporter and I will be buried in a coffin covered with the North Melbourne flag. It's not simply an interest, it's a PASSION!

Jackson Finnigan
Well im 12 years old and the North Melbourne Football Club means everything to me. I have gone for North Melbourne my whole life so I love the North Melbourne Football Club. In my room I have a big painted picture on my wall of the North Melbourne Football Club. I think Brad Scott is awesome and that is what North Melbourne means to me. Thanks, Jackson.

Ben
GREATEST CLUB IN THE WORLD!

Diana Holden
To be honest i was never a footy fan until the 77 Grand Final. Everybody in my house was going for the Magpies so i decided to go for the "other side". Ever since then they have been "My Club". I have stuck with them through the good times and bad and was over the moon when they were able to stay a Melbourne Based Club as they will always be. I am a proud supporter who wears my own jumper with pride and the signatures on it are one of the best things I own! We may not have the following of some of the other clubs but in my mind we certainly have the best as there has not been one Family Day where I have not gotten on well with the other supporters and had fun. If North were to ever leave this state or god forbid be disbanded then that would be the end of AFL football for me because there simply is no other club in my mind. GO ROO BOYS.

Chris Dimopoulos
North Melbourne means the world to me. From a young age I fell in love with this club.

North Melbourne is a Melbourne Club BASED IN MELBOURNE and not anywhere else, including Hobart !

Robyn Harper
North Melbourne is a huge part of my life - from when I was a little girl standing on beer cans on the hill at Arden St to going to games at the G and Etihad now. It is memories of our first two premierships in 75 and 77, the years my two children were born, to going to the finals in the 90's with my children, to now having my grandaughters as members of the club that i love so much. I attend every game in Melbourne and have been a member for the majority of my life. I love the North Melbourne Football Club - it has given me some wonderful memories of watching some great players over the years - right back to the days when we were lucky to win a match all season - there have definitely been highs and lows but I am excited about the future of our club with Brad Scott and this group of exciting players - Go Roos!!!!

Kris Cookson
Having lived in S.A and now W.A. I still don't know how I became a North supporter, but I did and have been a member now for 19 years. And what a fabulous ride it's been with Carey, Stevens, Archer and two premierships in the 90's. Jason McCartney in the early 2000's and now the seeds of a great era under Brad Scott seemingly upon us in the near future. With my 10 year old son a member and along with me for the ride it's a father and son bonding I cherish. People in W.A. just don't get it that I could live here and not barrack for West Coast or Fremantle, but then they don't know the pride one gets when a so called battling club continually bats above it's average with it's never say die belief and attitude.

You have here a supporter and member for life....my beloved Roos!!!

Cam
North Melbourne is everything to me. I watched games at Arden St then was at the MCG everytime they played, now Etihad. They've shown me through The Shinboner Spirit to smile through adversity and always believe there will be a positive outcome. I love the players, always have, Arch is still my favourite but now the young group make me feel proud I am a supporter. I love the backs to the wall approach much like my local club Sebastopol. They give me so much enjoyment and I'll have many more years of that to come including success in the near future.

Tim Bishop
Living in Adelaide now, after moving from Mildura, I try to get to Melbourne at least once a year to see my beloved Roos. Watching the boys at AAMI stadium is not as much fun as the stadium is generally full of Crow and Power drop-kick fans. I've been a supporter of North since I was 2 and a member since 2002 (interstate membership). My fondest memory was going to the MCG in 1992 as a 16 year-old. An old neighbour of mine was friends with Greg Miller who got me an ACCESS ALL AREAS pass.

We played the bombers and Wanganeen and Watson were doing a bit of a number on us. North were 3 goals down at three quarter-time but after some Wayne Carey last quarter magic, we got up by a couple of kicks. After the game I couldn't wait to meet my favourite player, Matthew Larkin. What a legend of the club. And I did.

Speaking of legends, I was introduced to a young man who I think at that stage, had never played a league game. His name was Glenn Archer. Greg Miller said to me,"Tim, this guys going to be a legend." Say no more.

In summary, I've a heartfelt passion for North and am so glad that we're still in Melbourne and our future looks very bright. Join in the chorus.

Bill
North Melbourne represents my upbringing and in my family structure. The North culture represents battlers from humble beginnings where you would fight for everything you owned in life.

North supporters are humble and well versed in the game. North supporters know who we are, although we might not be the loudest at the games or a typical powerhouse club, this suits us, it's who we are......we would have it NO OTHER WAY.

My parents migrated from Italy back in the mid 1950's and they live around the corner from the ground. I remember asking my Dad, "why do you follow North Melbourne?" and the simple answer was "because at my first game of football (approx 55years ago) we played Collingwood at Arden Street and my Dad said to me we looked much better in royal blue and white, who would argue with him."

When you become part of North Melbourne, you are wearing the jumper for all the players in the past and you are not just analysed for your football talent but the size of your heart, Glenn Archer a statesmen of our club and great example. North Melbourne represents fun family moments, past and present, especially these days where our social lives have become more "individual", but our great club threads us together and puts us back on track.

David Mcilroy
North means a lot to me over sixty years of support. I used to work very long hours & they used to get me through winter & keep me sane. There is no better club for value & record over the years & its been a wonderful journey. By the way, it's not over yet

Shaun Babes
In two aspects North Melbourne stands second to none. One is the loyalty of its supporters. The other is the determination to carry on, despite its disadvantages. In the face of adversity, which might well have broken the spirit of most men, we find that from the earliest days there were always enthusiasts to fight for North Melbourne. If the world were consumed by a nuclear holocaust tomorrow, the North Melbourne Football Club and cockroaches would be the only two things left scurrying round the earth. At clubs with bigger memberships, their supporters only touch their colours, but at North we have the Shinboner spirit. North people can touch that spirit - we are the real Shinboners, we are the club... LONG LIVE NORTH MELBOURNE!!

Steven Geddes
North Melbourne has been a big part of my life for the past 20 years. I have been a memeber since 1993, met a lot of great people over that time and I am proud to be a member of this club.

Michael Hunter
North Melbourne means home to me! It means humble beginnings and triumph over adversity! It means working class pedigree and silver spoon admiration. It represents all that is good and traditional in our great game. It means creativity and innovation both on and off field. It means being a trend setter in a time when teams were comfortable to just maintain the status quo! Above all North Melbourne means home and home is where the heart is!

Canty
I have been a member for 7 years now, even though I am WA born I couldn't see myself being a West Coast supporter. After the Carey furore I watched with interest all the media speculation that the club was in turmoil and was never going to be the same. This pricked up my ears as to how the club would respond.Well, they pulled together to show the club had more ticker than relying on one individual and impressed the hell out of me! Joined up as a paid member that year. Watching David King and Arch in their last few years was awesome. Young guns and an ageless Boomer still look wicked. Now I have 4 other members in my household TROO ROO'S FOR LIFE. ZOOM ZOOM !!

Tracey Johnson
Whether it is sitting in the rain at the G, or under the roof At Etihad, whether the pies are cold and soggy or the soft drink fizzes all over you... North Melbourne to me are my heritage and upbringing, North Melbourne bring families together at the game, or sitting around an LCD screen anywhere. North Melbourne, win or lose, are MY team and to me they are another reason for me and my girl to hang out together watching our beloved Roo Boys fight for that trophy (hopefully!)

Spenser Kao
NMFC means: inspiring never-says-die spirit; how to be humble; don't have to be big to be tough; and don't need to be rich to be generous. NMFC is so close to my style, that's why I have become a member for three years. Birds of feather flock! You can imagine a person's style by the footy club he is associated with.

Nicole Marretta
My dad has been a mad Kangaroos supporter all his life. So when he had children he knew he would bring them up the same. I am now 18 yrs old, all my childhood I have been brought up as a Roo girl. I have been a member for practically my whole life & have been in the cheer squad for several years now also.

Being brought up on something makes you so passionate about it and your life revolves around it. For me the North Melbourne Football Club is my life. I love being able to go to each game every week and sitting in the crowd with a great atmosphere being there to support the club I love! North melbourne is a great club, the players all have a good bond with each other and the club throw some fun events for the members. The North melbourne Football Club is my number 1! I love this club, have since the day I can remember and will till I'm dead.

Walter Mariotti
North Melbourne really means a lot to me. I have always supported them no matter what, because North Melbourne has such a strong sense of belonging, North Melbourne gives me the pride to tell the world that North Melbourne is the team I barrack for.

Pamela Britza
North means to me the difference in myself & my family having a good week or a bad week. If we win we are on top of the word. If we lose, well it's just awful. I love North nearly as much as I love my family.

Craig Cowland
North Melbourne to me is Arden street with Dad. I'm 36 now and the memories of going to Arden street to watch the mighty Kangas always brings a smile to my face. Watching the greats of the past with the old man and often watching the pie stand burn down at Arden street during a game. Love taking my son & daughter to the footy now and both proudly wear the Blue & White. North means Schimma, Blight, Krakouers, Matty the Magician, Carey, Stevo, Arch, Blakey, Spud, Monster, Boomer and my family.

Erica Pollard
What North means to me? How do you describe it. It is something very special, unique, fantastic etc. Words fail me, it can be frustrating, but then those special days when we win a fantastic game and the atmosphere is electric, the crowd is really into the game and behind the players. WOW.

The people I met over the years through watching North and the friends I've made.

Being there when they played all their finals and the best of all when they won their FIRST premiership and the drawn final. Whether they have won or lost the privilege of being a supporter of such a great team is something special. Go The Mighty North Melbourne Kangaroos. There is no other team.

Glenn Wrigley
North Melbourne F.C. to me sets the example for the way we should live. Never give up. Help your mates. Never sell your principals. Fight against all odds. Respect others but above all retain your integrity.

Edith Wolff
North Melbourne means a lot to me. It is the club that shows me that no matter what happens to keep a person/club down, at the end of the day you are still standing. That no matter what they never give up or give in. That like their supporters they are battlers and when they fight together they can't be beaten, and they can hold their heads up high no matter what. And that they are the only club going around that have supporters that stick by them no matter what, and that those supporters come first.

Sharon
I was a St Kilda supporter until Tony Lockett left. My sister asked me to jump on-board the Kangaroos bandwagon..so for the last 14 years I have been supporting the Kangas I've enjoyed being a Roos girl I've enjoyed watching players like Carey, Simpson..McKernan, Stevens, Bell & Laidley

I live In Adelaide but all of my friends know I must be the biggest Roos supporter here. My car is even splashed out in the great BLUE & WHITE COLOURS...Love my Kangas, can't wait for another premiership celebration !!!!

Well, ever since '99 the Kangaroos have been one of those things which makes me who I am. I live in Canberra so I can't see any live games which is pretty lame but every single week I watch those guys on TV. Every single day I'm looking at the website waiting for news. I can't go out if there is a game on and all my friends hate me for that, but I just tell them the Roos are my curse because win or lose at the end of the day I will always be one of those almost scary die-hard Kangaroo fans. I just recently cleaned out my room and the amount of Kangaroos merchandise I had in there was staggering! Oh and just to say how big a fan I am, I watched the entire round two game vs St. Kilda, the whole freaking match, it hurt, it really hurt, but you know I'd never abandon my beloved Kangas, Peace!!

North Melbourne to me is something I can now enjoy with my son, it's not a club I just love by myself anymore, it's a club I can share great experiences with my young fella, just like I did growing up with my father. I love hearing my son yell out "Go Jack Ziebell" or "Go Wellsy". I look forward to many more years of catching the train in with him and hopefully some successful times we can enjoy together. Go Rooboys.

North Melbourne has been in my family's blood for over 100 years. My great grandfather Tom Boyhan played when North was called "Hotham Hill". His daughter (my grandmother) is now 102 and still attends North's functions. Her husband Leo Dwyer was a player/match committee member for many years. Their three sons, Kevin, Laurie and Cliff all played for North. Laurie's sons David and Anthony both played too. So as you can see, North is in our blood. It is an institution which we have grown up with. We all barrack for North! Go roos!!!

North Melbourne means the world to me. I fly interstate just to watch them play and win or lose I remain 100% passionate to North Melbourne.

I am so passionate that if I hear people putting North or their players down i tell them off.

I've been to every game in Victoria this year and will continue to go! BLUE AND WHITE UNITE !!

Being a North Melbourne Supporter in my family is a tradition.

My family came to Australia from Italy and moved in up the road from Arden St and became fans of the NMFC. My dad took me to every game when I was a child and it was something we did together..just me and him.

We would run into family and friends and it was special. So to me the club reminds me of family..The club is a close knit and loyal one which represents family to me. I have been a member most of my life and although my dad has been gone for a long time, I carry on the NMFC tradition with my own family and supporting the club is like supporting your family :)

North Melbourne FC means everything to me, since I was born I have worn the blue and white and gone to a lot of matches throughout my childhood. I've put the Roos ahead of many other things but never felt that i shouldn't have because they always do their best and make the supporters proud.

Ever since Brad Scott was announced as new North Melbourne coach I have been changing aspects of who I barrack for. I found that I used to barrack for the Hawks but have grown closer to the Roos ever since Brad was appointed. I remember writing an online letter to Brad to congratulate him and he got me to sign up as a North Melbourne member.

The club means a lot to me. I respect and support everyone at the club especially Brad being there. I hate it when others decide to get stuck into my team and Brad. I know Brad Scott does a hell of a lot for the club and he deserves to be respected. I am now a North Melbourne member all because of him and my support means a lot to him. :)

North Melbourne Football Club is my whole life. I've been a member for 17 tears and I go to every home game, even if I have to study for an exam or something. I love wearing my jumper and bagging my friends when we beat their team. Whenever we win, I run down to the gate to cheer off the players and I always hope that Brent Harvey will give me a DVD or something, but he never has! I have every players' signature in my bible. Also, I have North Melbourne bed sheets.

North Melbourne FC means everything to me, the result of their matches on the weekend make up my mood for the rest of that weekend. I consider North Melbourne a way of life, I bleed blue and white. I have missed family things, parties, umpiring matches just to see North Melbourne play.

North Melbourne means bleeding blue and white, it means sharing a gammet pf emotions with an extended family of thousands, it means standing by through thick or thin, the good and the bad, it means wearing your heart on your sleeve. It's sitting on the edge of your seat, it's punching the air after a goal, it's shouting "BALL!" after a great tackle, it's singing the song after a great win. That is North Melbourne.
