WEST Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui continues to progress well in his recovery from surgery as he did some kicking and very light running on Monday.

The Eagles ruckman had surgery on both feet just three weeks ago to relieve inflammation he was experiencing near both Achilles tendons.

He was able to do stair walking and push a scooter last week at training but he progressed to kicking and light jogging on Monday at the Eagles' open skills session.

Naitanui remains on track to return before the end of the home and away season.

Fellow ruckman Scott Lycett did very little at training on Monday. He did some light handball work after arriving on the track late in his tracksuit top and joggers.

Lycett did have his knee assessed by medical staff during Thursday night's win over Essendon but played out the game finishing with 18 disposals and 28 hit-outs, having played the majority of the game in the ruck with only Mitch Brown and Jeremy McGovern giving him support.

The Eagles have lost another key tall with Fraser McInnes set to miss four-to-five weeks with a hamstring injury he sustained in the WAFL. Midfielder Kane Lucas will also be sidelined for multiple weeks after injuring his knee in the same game.

Star forward Josh Kennedy was absent from Monday's light skills session but that is not unusual so early in the week. The Eagles still have two main sessions on Tuesday and Thursday before Sunday's crucial clash with North Melbourne at Domain Stadium.

Josh Hill was back on the track after missing last week's win over Essendon with tonsillitis. He will come into to calculations to return against the Kangaroos.

Jack Redden put his hand up for an immediate recall following an outstanding performance for East Perth in the WAFL. Redden was asked to go back and find some touch after a quiet first half of the season and he responded with 28 touches and three goals in the Royals' 16-point over South Fremantle.

Dom Sheed made a promising return to football after missing the most of the season to-date due to pec and knee injuries. He gathered 26 disposals and a goal for East Perth.

Experienced key defender Eric Mackenzie is also in contention to be recalled after a strong performance in defence for East Perth. He held two-time WAFL leading goalkicker Ben Saunders to just nine touches and one goal while gathering 22 disposals and taking 10 marks himself.

Mackenzie has spend the past two matches in the WAFL trying to rebuild some confidence having played the first 11 matches of the season for the Eagles following a knee reconstruction last year.
