Overview of Role
To deliver a comprehensive strength and conditioning program across the whole of Tasmania to assist in the physical development and rehabilitation of athletes in AFL Tasmania’s State Academies.  Also to develop, maintain and manage a comprehensive AFL Tasmania talent database.

Job/Task Profile
•    Develop and deliver, in accordance with the State High Performance Manager and the State Academy Coach, a holistic and progressive strength and conditioning program for Senior, Under 18 and Under 16 State Academy players.
•    Assist in the evaluation of the State Academy program and future directions in physical preparation area.
•    Develop, document and deliver individualised strength, conditioning and rehabilitation programs for each State Academy athlete
•    Plan, conduct and document State Academy strength and conditioning programs
•    Monitor and manage player workloads in accordance with AFL Academy programs
•    Assist in the delivery of high quality strength and conditioning programs at TSL clubs.
•    Develop, maintain and manage AFL Tasmania’s talent databases (to include online weekly athlete reports, fitness testing results, workload, medical screening, questionnaires, GPS reporting and all NAB AFL Draft Combine results and documentation)
•    Collect and maintain personal data on every State Academy player 
•    Conduct physical testing and compile screening reports
•    Implement and manage AFL online athlete training load and wellbeing site (Athletic Logic) and AFL online GPS platform (Catapult Live)
•    Oversee all rehabilitation programs within State Academy program
•    Plan and deliver rehabilitation programs in liaison with medical and coaching staff of the State Academy
•    Co-ordinate injury reporting and player monitoring to disseminate amongst State League clubs
•    Arrange warm ups/ drills and cool down for State Academy program
•    Assist in planning of camps and tours within the State Academy program
•    Assist preparation, presentation and delivery of coach education and development programs and projects
•    Other duties as required

Key Selection Criteria
Mandatory
•    A genuine desire and passion to develop talented young Tasmanian footballers
•    Minimum Bachelor of Applied Sciences qualification or related certification
•    Demonstrated experience in the conditioning, recovery and rehabilitation of talented footballers
•    Demonstrated ability to micro plan a sequential training program based on player management and conditioning outcomes for talented youth players.
•    Demonstrated knowledge and application of GPS technology
•    Demonstrated strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
•    Strong interpersonal and communication skills
•    Current Working With Children Check (Card)
•    Current drivers licence
Desirable
•    Experience in a similar role (any sport)
•    Recently worked at an AFL club / state academy program / state league club
•    Current first aid certificate
