FOUR Irishmen and a Canadian have been named as AFL rookies at the close of nominations for international players.

Adelaide, Essendon, North Melbourne and the Sydney Swans have listed overseas rookies.

The Crows have taken Brian Donnelly from County Louth, Essendon has selected Michael Quinn from County Longford, North Melbourne has picked Conor Meredith from County Laois, and County Tyrone's Kyle Coney and Canadian rugby international Michael Pyke have joined the Swans.

Five NSW scholarship listed players have been added to club rookie lists: Scott Reed [Collingwood],  Ranga Ediriwickrama [Geelong], William Sierakowski [Hawthorn], Blake McGrath [St Kilda] and Christopher Ogle [Western Bulldogs].

Collingwood has also rookie-listed Lachlan Keefe, who was taken as a three-year non-registered player.

The remaining key dates in the lead-up to the 2008 NAB Pre-Season Draft and 2008 NAB Rookie Draft are as follows:

* Tue Dec 9, 2pm - Delisted players nominate.

* Tue Dec 16, 10am - 2008 NAB AFL Pre-Season Draft selection meeting.

* Tue Dec 16, 10.15am - Brisbane Lions and Sydney Swans nominate eligible rookie list players.

* Tue Dec 16, 10.15am - Nomination of third-year rookies.

* Tue Dec 16, 10.30am - 2008 NAB AFL Rookie Draft selection meeting.
