ESSENDON'S 'other' top-10 draft pick, Aaron Francis, will debut against the Brisbane Lions on Sunday.

It is a move that may deliver Dons fans a double dose of excitement, in what looms as the Bombers' most winnable game since their shock round two victory over Melbourne.

Francis battled a calf injury in the early part of the year, but has made his case for selection with solid form in seven VFL appearances.

The 190cm utility is expected to line up in defence in his first senior game, possibly against the Lions' No.2 pick, Josh Schache.

The South Australian was selected with pick No.6 at last year's draft.

Coach John Worsfold said Francis' debut would be a chance for fans to see another element of "the future of a very successful footy club."

The Bombers go into the game as $1.50 favourites, while Crownbet currently has the Lions at $2.60 in the head to head market.

"A win is what we've after, and we haven't given up on winning more than just one game for the remainder of the year," Worsfold said on Thursday.
