GARY Ablett has been ruled out of Saturday night's clash with Richmond after failing to overcome a hamstring injury.
Ablett was chosen in Gold Coast's 22 on Thursday and got through the team's main training session that night, but woke up sore on Saturday morning.
It is the second straight match the dual Brownlow medallist has missed and the fourth match in six weeks.
He joins co-captain Steven May (hamstring) on the sidelines for the match against the Tigers at Metricon Stadium.
Jesse Lonergan has replaced Ablett in Gold Coast's 22.
