Tom Rockliff has been a model of consistency for the Lions this season.

The 21 year-old midfielder has backed up his break-through 2010 campaign to officially announce himself as one of the most promising young talents in the AFL.

Rockliff - along with team-mate Jack Redden - has also quickly become a popular selection among AFL Dream Team coaches.

Not only has he been averaging 103.55 points per game so far in 2011 (ranked 14th in the AFL), but he’s been a reliable source of points.

With the exception of the Round 9 match against North Melbourne at the Gabba when he was substituted off just after half time with a calf injury, Rockliff has scored between 86 - 134 points in his 12 full matches this season.

He was the team’s highest scorer in Round 14 with 122 points courtesy of his 27 disposals and 10 marks against Fremantle at Patersons Stadium.

Rockliff was closely followed by the evergreen Simon Black (118 points), Redden (112 points), Cheynee Stiller (107 points) and Pearce Hanley (102 points).

The other player Lions fans will be keeping a close eye on this week is draftee Patrick Karnezis who has averaged 49.5 points while acting as a substitute in each of his first two AFL matches.

Karnezis remains valued at just $92,500 and is set to dramatically increase his price once he plays his next match. He presents a great option for any Dream Team coaches looking to downgrade one of their forwards this week.

Off the field, there was little movement among the Lions players who are participating in this year’s AFL Dream Team fantasy competition.

Joel Patfull has kept a slight edge on Daniel Rich, while Ash McGrath is now the fifth best placed Lions player (out of 10 participants) after leapfrogging Mitch Golby this week.

Claye Beams, meanwhile, has slipped in recent weeks and is now the last placed Lion - a position that Josh Green seemed to have sewn up midway through the season.

Round 14 also proved a week of big moves from some Lions fans.

None were bigger than ‘The Blowtorch’ who had one of the highest round scores for the second consecutive week which has helped The J God move into outright second position ahead of the solid ‘albertproudftw’.

Adam’s ‘Spaceballs’ are still the team to beat but will no doubt experience some nervous moments in the race to the finish line.

Congratulations also to Michael’s ‘PaddlePopIsland’ whose Round 14 score of 2,326 was the biggest of any participant in the Lions’ Dream Team competition.
