THE RETURN of big-time footy to Arden Street is already a success with the JLT Challenge Series clash between North Melbourne and Hawthorn later this month now sold out.

The last of the remaining 5000 tickets for the February 26 clash at North Melbourne's longtime home were sold on Wednesday, barely a day after they went on sale.

Members of both clubs were given a 24-hour priority window to buy tickets on Tuesday and they snaffled all but a few of them.

It will be the first League game of any description at the ground since 1985 and for fans of the Kangaroos and the Hawks, it will be the only chance to watch their sides through the pre-season competition in Victoria.

North's other games are in Coffs Harbour and Canberra, while the Hawks play in Launceston and then Noarlunga, just outside Adelaide.

Interest in the match will be strong, particularly if it marks the first game back in more than 12 months for new Hawks skipper Jarryd Roughead.

With the grandstands long gone, most of the available standing room at Arden Street for the clash will be on the grassy hills behind the goals at both ends of the ground.

For those unable to get tickets, the game will be televised live on Fox Footy and the AFL Live App.
