STEPHEN Milne's footy career looks set to continue at a lower level in 2014.

The retired Saint's management has been fielding calls from a variety of suburban, amateur and country-based clubs keen on securing the small forward's services.

"We've had a lot of people call us about Stephen playing footy, he is interested in playing somewhere next year," Milne's manager Tom Petroro confirmed to AFL.com.au.

Milne is overseas on holidays and will make a decision upon his return.

One factor that could lure Milne to Central Victoria is his friendship with the coach of Bendigo League club Strathfieldsaye, Darryl Wilson. Amateur and suburban clubs have also expressed interest.

Playing in the country could lead to Milne's biggest payday. Former Blues and Lions forward Brendan Fevola has earned good money drawing large crowds to games in regional Victoria.

But Milne's football future will be contingent on ongoing court action.

The 33-year-old will face the Melbourne Magistrates' Court in November, charged with four counts of rape over allegations dating back to 2004.

Milne has maintained his innocence.

He retired from St Kilda at the end of the season after kicking 574 goals in 275 games.
