Geelong pair Billie Smedts (ankle) and Josh Caddy (corked thigh) have withdrawn from the squad to face Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday, allowing Mitch Brown and Jordan Schroder to return to the Cats' 22.

Port Adelaide has also made a late change,  giving forward John Butcher his first game of the year after ruckman Matthew Lobbe suffered an ankle injury at training on Thursday night.

The Brisbane Lions are also set for a change after vice-captain Tom Rockliff revealed first-year player Sam Docherty would come into the side to face Carlton on Saturday night. Defender Mitch Golby is the likely absentee after missing training on Friday.

Hawthorn defender Matt Spangher has been withdrawn from the side set to take on Gold Coast on Sunday. Spangher has been replaced by Jed Anderson.
