The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed the weekend's matches. The following charges were laid:

Brent Guerra, Hawthorn,
has been charged with a level three bump, or front-on offence, against Eddie Betts, Carlton, during the first quarter of the round 14 match between Hawthorn and Carlton, played at the MCG on Friday June 29, 2012.
 
In summary, he can accept a three-game sanction with an early plea.
 
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Carlton Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a level three offence, drawing 400 demerit points and a four-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 300 points and a three-match sanction.
 
Daniel Jackson, Richmond, has been charged with a level two striking offence against Chris Knights, Adelaide Crows, during the third quarter of the round 14 match between Richmond and the Adelaide Crows, played at AAMI Stadium on Saturday June 30, 2012.
 
In summary, due to his previous poor record, his one-match sanction is increased to two matches, even with an early plea.
 
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Adelaide Crows Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of seven matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 50 per cent to 187.50 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He also has 94.66 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty by 282.16 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 211.62 points and a two-match sanction.
 
 Taylor Walker, Adelaide Crows, has been charged with a level three engaging in rough conduct offence against Steven Morris, Richmond, during the fourth quarter of the round 14 match between the Adelaide Crows and Richmond, played at AAMI Stadium on Saturday June 30, 2012.
 
In summary, due to his previous poor record, his three-game sanction must remain at three matches, even with an early plea.
 
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Richmond Football Club, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a level three offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has an existing bad record of two matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 20 per cent to 390 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He also has 39.06 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty by 429.06 points and a four-match sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 321.80 points and a three-match sanction.
 
Stewart Crameri, Essendon, has been charged with a level three engaging in rough conduct offence against Dylan Addison, Western Bulldogs, during the second quarter of the round 14 match between Essendon and the Western Bulldogs, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday June 30, 2012.
 
In summary, he can accept a two-match sanction with an early plea.

In summary, he can accept an $1800 sanction with an early plea.

Brendon Goddard, St Kilda, has been charged with a level four striking offence against Sam Wright, North Melbourne, during the fourth quarter of the round 14 match between St Kilda and North Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Sunday July 1, 2012.

Contact between Fremantle's Ryan Crowley and Collingwood's Dayne Beams from the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
 
Contact between the Adelaide's Richard Douglas and Richmond's Alex Rance from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Rance is bending down to take possession of the ball and gains possession as Douglas comes toward him. As Rance moves upward from a lowered position, Douglas prepares to bump and, at the last instant, elects to attempt to tackle his opponent. His tackle makes high contact and a free kick was paid to the Richmond player. It was the view of the panel that Douglas' actions were an attempt to tackle and the Adelaide player had no realistic alternative way to contest the ball. No further action was taken.
 
Contact between the Gold Coast's Gary Ablett and West Coast's Eric Mackenzie from the fourth quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Ablett is running towards a loose ball in the Gold Coast forward line with his opponent Scott Selwood, while Eric Mackenzie is coming from the opposite direction. Mackenzie gathers the loose ball and Ablett's right leg makes contact with his opponent. It was the view of the panel that while Ablett's actions in sticking out his leg were reckless, the impact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
 
Contact between Essendon's Heath Hocking and umpire Matthew Leppard from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. After the ball is bounced, it is knocked back by the ruckmen towards the direction the umpire is heading away from the contest. Hocking and opponent Ryan Griffen both begin to head towards the ball and Hocking makes contact with the umpire, as he is heading backwards. It was the view of the panel that Hocking did not set up in an incorrect position and the contact with the umpire was accidental. No further action was taken.
 
Contact between the Western Bulldogs' Liam Picken and umpire Matthew Leppard from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. After the ball is bounced, the umpire heads backwards at a slight angle and contact is made with Picken. It was the view of the panel that Picken did not set up in an incorrect position and the contact with the umpire was accidental, as he moved on an angle. No further action was taken.
 
Contact to the Western Bulldogs' Ryan Griffen while being treated from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. After viewing all available footage and an MRP investigation, it could not be determined that a reportable offence had occurred. No further action was taken
 
Contact between St Kilda's Jarryn Geary and North Melbourne's Andrew Swallow from the second quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. Swallow is preparing to mark as Geary seeks to spoil. Swallow marks the ball and high contact is made with Geary's spoil, for which a 50-metre penalty was paid. It was the view of the panel that Geary had his eyes on the ball and his actions were an attempt to spoil. No further action was taken.
 
Contact between North Melbourne's Michael Firrito and St Kilda's Ahmed Saad from the first quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. After viewing all available footage and an MRP investigation in which both players were interviewed, it could not be determined if a reportable offence had occurred. No further action was taken.

After viewing all available footable and an MRP investigation in which both players were interviewed, it was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.
