From cheap backline cash cows to premium midfield maestros, The Traders are ready to show you the quick path to NAB AFL Fantasy glory. Over the next 30 days, they'll hand pick 30 fit-for-purpose players for your starting AFL Fantasy squad.

Today, we take a look at a dark horse midfield option for your bench - a Bulldog with impressive Under-18s Fantasy credentials.

IT'S difficult selecting rookies at this time of year as we are still unsure where they sit in the pecking order, but a name I am going to throw into the mix is the Western Bulldog Mitch Honeychurch.

In my opinion, the Dogs were lucky that a player of Honeychurch’s ability slipped as low as pick No. 60 in the draft.

NAB Challenge review: The Traders take a look at the Fantasy numbers from the first six games

The bonus of this for Fantasy coaches is that he is now available at a price well below the top draft picks, and well below what he could be by season's end.

Honeychurch is an elite ball winner and he displayed this at the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships where he averaged 25 possessions and 102 AFL Fantasy points in the shortened matches.

He was fifth in the competition for disposals and equal first for goals among all midfielders. He went on to be named Vic Metro’s most valuable player and was selected for the All Australian team.

Honeychurch appears to love a contest, and possesses many traits that suggest he is ready to make an instant impact at AFL level.

During the TAC Cup last season, he was the only player to average over 20 possessions and two goals per game, suggesting he is built for a big Fantasy career.

Apart from his undeniable talent and generous price, Honeychurch provides our team with valuable flexibility by providing a dual position link between our midfield and forward line.

LOCKABILITY: 2.5/5
At this stage, Honeychurch ticks a lot of boxes and must be high on our watch-list throughout the NAB Challenge.

He'll run out for the Bulldogs on Wednesday night in the clash with the Saints. Make sure you're watching closely.
