The Essendon Football Club has a reputation as a leader in the Australian sports industry, with well established values and behaviours.  Driven to be recognised and respected as the most successful sporting club in Australia, both on and off the field, we are now seeking an experienced Member Retention professional to join our Membership team as Member Retention & Engagement Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Membership you will be responsible for managing the relationship with and commercial return from our 60,000+ membership base, in order to support short and long term growth and profit targets. 

The role covers the below key areas;

• End to end ownership of member renewal and retention programs, loyalty and engagement programs and initiatives
• Planning & execution of retention strategies to
  •  increase overall base renewal
  • increase new (Y1-3) member renewal
  • increase junior member renewal
• Planning & execution of engagement strategies to reward, recognise and ultimately retain high margin / high value members
• Design and management of program to recognise long tenure / loyalty among member base
• Program management and on-boarding of strategic investment member growth programs focusing on youth, club partners and community groups

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:        

• Experience in developing and managing marketing campaigns
• Experience using data and market research analysis to develop strategy
• Understanding of market segmentation and product development
• Experience developing Marketing & Communication strategies
• Demonstrated experience managing a customer facing team
• Excellent organisational and time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure on a variety of tasks
• Conflict management and resolution
• Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases
• An understanding of the challenges faced in customer service environment
• Experience using a CRM system
• Experience working for a membership organisation
