CONTROVERSIAL sports scientist Stephen Dank is booked to speak at a luncheon at the Bunch of Grapes Hotel in Ballarat on May 2, as the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority (ASADA) continues its work on Essendon's 2012 supplement program.

Dank is a key figure in the supplements scandal that saw the club fined and banned from last year's finals series and its coach James Hird suspended.

Dank spoke publicly for the first time last month at a fundraiser for Riddell Football club at Crown Casino but failed to shed much light on his activities while at Essendon.

He did say he would not co-operate with ASADA.

The lunch in Ballarat is advertised on the hotel's website with tickets selling for $60.

Hotel owner Jamie Morcombe confirmed Dank would be appearing alongside former VFL players Mark Jackson and Peter Bosustow, who will be master of ceremonies.

"Mark and Peter will do a bit of a spiel…then there will be a bit of question and answer time with Dank as well," Morcombe said.

Morcombe was also expecting Dank would take questions from the floor during the event.

ASADA has issued Dank with a show-cause notice relating to the supplements program but he has not appeared in front of the government body.

Last Thursday, a scheduled hearing of ASADA's Anti-Doping Rule Violation Panel that was set to discuss its next action in relation to Dank was postponed after it failed to have enough members to sit.
