WESTERN AUSTRALIA
East Fremantle kept its unbeaten record alive with a 91-point win over West Perth. Peel Thunder and South Fremantle played out an entertaining clash that saw Peel take the points. Subiaco upset Swan Districts by 17 points for its fourth win of the WAFLW season.
State League Players
Recently delisted Eagle Ashlee Atkins kicked three goals from 26 disposals for East Fremantle. Teammates Sharon Wong and Larissa Versaci also kicked three goals and were influential in the Sharks' big win.
Exciting Western Australian prospects Zipporah Fish and Georgie Cleaver also played a role for East Fremantle with Fish finishing with 25 disposals and six inside 50s and Cleaver with 22 disposals and eight marks.
Jessica Roper led West Perth with her 21 disposals and seven tackles in the loss to East Fremantle.
Peel Thunder’s Kate Bartlett kicked a bag of seven goals to help her side on its way to win over South Fremantle.
Aisha Wright and Jaide Britton were also singled out for their efforts for Peel in the win over the Dogs.
Zoe Hugget kept South Fremantle in the game with her three goals and Casey Byrne had a strong performance finishing with 14 disposals.
Subiaco’s Tarnica Golisano led all comers with her 25 disposals and also had five marks and six tackles.
Tiah Toth returned for Subiaco and finished with 18 disposals while Amy Mulholland had three goals from her 16 touches.
For Swan Districts, Jaime Henry was singled out as one of the best for her 19 disposals, seven tackles and six inside 50s.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
North Adelaide booked its spot in the SANFLW Grand Final with a dominant 57-point win over Sturt in the second semi-final. Glenelg eliminated South Adelaide from the SANFLW Finals Series with a 16-point victory after a stirring second-half comeback.
State League Players
North Adelaide and former AFLW Blue Jess Edwards led all comers with her 31 touches but it was Hannah Ewings' 25-disposal and three-goal effort that set up the Roosters' win.
Jade De Melo also kicked three goals for the Roosters and Katelyn Pope and Erica Greet were busy in the midfield finishing with 19 and 17 disposals respectively with Pope also kicking two goals.
Zoe Prowse starred for Sturt in its first-ever final finishing with 24 disposals, five tackles and 10 clearances.
Abbey Ballard and Ellen Lynch were also good for the Double Blues finishing with 17 and 15 disposals respectively.
Glenelg kept its finals hopes alive off the back oft the performances of Marie Martino, Jessica Bates and Ellie Kellock.
Kellock led her side with her 21 disposals, while Bates laid the most tackles on the ground with 10 and Martino had 19 disposals and five marks. Caitlyn Swanson kicked two crucial goals for the Tigers.
Jessica Waterhouse did her best to keep South Adelaide's finals hopes alive with her 26 disposals, six marks, seven tackles, eight clearances and a goal.
Senna Gulden - sister of Sydney AFL player Errol - and Shae Archibald also put in good performances for the Panthers.
VICTORIA
The Western Bulldogs got close to its first win of the VFLW season but a goalless final term allowed Collingwood to snatch victory by 10 points. Geelong cemented its finals spot with a 52-point win over Darebin. Casey Demons accounted for Port Melbourne by 56 points away at ETU Stadium. North Melbourne and Williamstown played out a thriller at Downer Oval with North Melbourne holding off the Seagulls to win by just two points. The top-of-the-table clash between Essendon and Hawthorn finished with the two sides sharing the points after a draw. The Southern Saints led all day and came away 31-point winners over Carlton at Trevor Barker Beach Oval.
AFLW-Listed Players
Britney Gutknecht’s strong VFLW form continues, finishing with 22 disposals, four marks and eight tackles. Teammate Amanda Ling finished with 17 disposals and 11 tackles in the loss to the Pies.
Carly Remmos had 24 disposals, 14 tackles and kicked a goal in Geelong’s big win over Darebin while Chloe Scheer had a game-high 27 disposals and also took five marks.
North Melbourne’s Britt Gibson kicked three goals from 16 disposals and had six marks in a dominant display inside 50.
Georgia Nanscawen continues to be a ball magnet in the Bombers' midfield, collecting 29 disposals this week to go with five marks and six tackles.
Southern Saints' Alana Woodward had one of her best performances in Saints colours with her 21 disposals, five marks and nine tackles against Carlton.
Serena Gibbs returned for Carlton and kicked a goal in her comeback after time away from the game in 2022.
State League Players
Eliza Vale returned for the Western Bulldogs after appearing in the Victorian All-Stars team that took on the AFLW Academy last weekend. She finished with 21 disposals and a game-high seven marks.
Keeley Skepper and Matilda Zander were amongst Collingwood’s best with Zander finishing with 19 disposals and Skepper hitting the scoreboard.
AFLW Academy prospect Paige Scott kicked five goals for Geelong from 13 disposals in her side's win.
Nicole Callinan and Sally Lynch led Darebin with 18 and 14 disposals respectively against Geelong.
Casey Demons' Samantha Johnson put in a strong performance, finishing with 24 disposals, five marks and six tackles.
Claire Dyett was everywhere for Port Melbourne with her 23 disposals while teammate Courtney Bromage led the tackle count with nine.
Williamstown’s Jasmine Kawa hit the scoreboard and collected 17 disposals, seven marks and five tackles in the close loss to North Melbourne.
Elizabeth McGrath and Reni Hicks had 18 and 16 disposals respectively for North Melbourne.
Isabelle Porter led Hawthorn with her 29 disposals, nine marks and six tackles while Ainslie Kemp was a rock in defence collecting 19 disposals and taking six marks.
Essendon’s Amelia Radford was amongst her side's best with her 24 disposals while Courtney Ugle hit the scoreboard in her 50th game for the Bombers.
Hannah Stuart led all comers with her 24 disposals for the Saints while teammates Chanelle Slater and Kayla Ripari both kicked two goals.
NEW SOUTH WALES
UNSW-ES Bulldogs enjoyed an 18-point win over the North Shore Bombers at Henson Park. East Coast Eagles remain the only undefeated team after they accounted for the Pennant Hills Demons by 68 points. Manly Warringah Wolves handed the Inner West Magpies their first loss of the season after defeating the Pies by 64 points. The UTS Bats held Southern Power goalless on their way to a 60-point win. Sydney University broke away from Macquarie University in the second half to come away 14-point winners.
State League Players
UNSW-ES Bulldogs were led by Lara Taggart and Lara Brennan in the win over the North Shore Bombers.
For the Bombers, Liv O’Donnell and Lucy Krimmer were among the votes for their efforts.
The East Coast Eagles had five multiple goalkickers in the win over Pennant Hills, with Emily Hurley leading the way with her three. Teammate Bryany Parker kicked two of her own and was named as one of the best on the ground.
Laura Donohoe and Madison Hare battled for Pennant Hills and were in their side's best.
Manly’s Kaitlyn Manning kicked a bag of five goals in a best-on-ground performance that bought the Inner West Magpies' unbeaten run to an end.
UTS’s Serina Goldrick and Samantha Goldrick were in the Bats' best in their sides big win over Southern Power with Jessica Quade kicking four goals.
Sydney University had Rosie Beasley and Saskia Johnson step up in the win over Macquarie University. For Macquarie it was Ellie Hicks and Katherine Spender who were highlighted for their efforts in the loss.
QUEENSLAND
University of Queensland came from behind at half-time to defeat Bond University by eight points. Coorparoo enjoyed a big 83-point win over Wilston Grange. The games between Aspley and Maroochydore and Southport and Yeronga South Brisbane were postponed due to wet weather.
State League Players
University of Queensland’s Kristen Tyquin was integral in her side's come-from-behind win as were teammates Kaitlyn Day and Jacqui Russell.
Courtney Sexton and Annie Muir were amongst the best for their efforts for Bond University, but their side just wasn't able to get over the line.
Both Gabriella Abi-Fares and Chelsea Chesterfield kicked four goals and got the votes for Coorparoo in the win over Wilston Grange. While Sally Young and Jo Miller were also highlighted for their efforts.
For Wilston Grange Lauren Shackleton and Ruby Ker were named in the best after battling in tough conditions.
