WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Claremont finished its WAFLW season on a high, heading into finals with a 69-point win over West Perth. East Fremantle finish the season unbeaten and on top of the ladder after it defeated South Fremantle by 52 points. Subiaco lost to Peel Thunder by five points and with that just misses out on making the finals in 2022.

State League Players

Tayla Thorogood kicked three goals in Claremont's win over West Perth with former Docker Jasmin Stewart also starring with two goals from 23 disposals.

Rebecca Tuckey and Madeleine Scanlon were also highlighted for their efforts in the win with 18 and 13 disposals, respectively.

West Perth's Karla Stagg was the best for her side, finishing with 19 disposals and five tackles in the loss.

Retired Eagle Melissa Caulfield kicked a bag of five goals from 15 disposals for East Fremantle in the win over South Fremantle.

Larissa Versaci applied plenty of pressure for the Sharks with her nine tackles and 19 disposals and Amber Kinane was instrumental too, winning 18 disposals and taking five marks.

For South Fremantle it was Pia Durt and Stephanie Mostert who did their best to keep the Bulldogs in the game.

Peel young guns Chloe Wrigley and Jade Britton led Thunder to the win over Subiaco. Fresh off winning the 2km time trial at the WA draft combine Jade Britton picked up 23 disposals and five marks in the win while Wrigley had 24 touches and nine tackles.

Tiah Toth was everywhere for Subiaco to keep her side in the finals race picking up 27 disposals, taking 11 marks and eight tackles. Teammate Tarnica Golisano wasn't too far behind with her 24 disposals and four tackles.

VICTORIA 

The VFLW finals series began with Essendon accounting for Hawthorn in the qualifying final at Windy Hill. The Bombers led from start to finish keep the Hawks to just one goal on its way to a 53-point win. The Southern Saints ended Geelong's season with an eight-point win in the second elimination final in Geelong. Collingwood was eliminated from the finals by the Casey Demons when it was defeated by 35 points in the first elimination final at Casey.

AFLW-Listed Players

Essendon AFLW-listed pair Georgia Nanscawen and Alanna Barba played their role in the midfield for the Bombers, finishing with 15 and 20 disposals respectively and each laying 13 and seven tackles.

Chloe Scheer played in Geelong's elimination final loss to the Saints, picking up 15 disposals and winning eight clearances.

Melbourne's Eliza West was a part of Casey's win over Collingwood gathering 14 disposals and six tackles.

State League Players

Natalie McDonald was dangerous inside forward 50 for the Bombers, kicking three goals from her 12 disposals.

Simone Nalder gave her mids first use of the footy winning the hitouts with her 41 and Amelia Radford was one of the Bombers' best with 21 disposals, six tackles and six clearances.

Hawthorn's Jordan Mifsud applied plenty of pressure on the Bombers with her 11 tackles and won plenty of the footy with 15 touches. Kately Cox and Abbey Holmes were also two of the Hawks' best in the tough loss.

Hannah Stuart was the best on ground for the Southern Saints, dominating the clearances with eight and picking up 23 disposals, eight tackles and a goal to help eliminate the Cats.

Grace Buchan and Alexandra Hynes also played a hand in the win picking up 19 and 12 disposals, respectively, while Tayla Kearns kicked two crucial goals for the Saints.

Recently delisted Cat Carly Remmos led Geelong for disposals with her 21 and also kicking a goal and picking up seven clearances.

Melanie Hogg was one of Casey's best in the elimination final win leading all disposal getters with her 23. Cara McCrossan was lively in front of goals kicking three goals for the Demons from her 14 disposals.

Marla Neal did everything she could to keep the Pies in the game with her 17 tackles, 14 tackles and eight clearances.
