TAYLA Harris is set to recommit with Melbourne after initially signing a one-year deal with the club.

The AFLW competition currently only allows for one or two-season deals, given the repeated expansions over the past few years.

Harris made the move to Melbourne last year after mutually parting ways with Carlton and had a career-best season, named All Australian and booting 18 goals from 12 matches.

Melbourne is firmly in the premiership window, having made the Grand Final in April but losing to Adelaide by 13 points.

"Being in a Grand Final in the first place is something not many people get to experience. In this case, 12 other teams weren't there, so we feel privileged in the first place to be there," Harris told womens.afl.

"We were absolutely hell-bent on making the most of it, and not being happy with just being there. We tried our best, but we fell short. It's footy, the sun came up the next day and we move on. We're ready to attack it next season and I feel like with that experience, we're much better for it.

"I hope we keep our core group together and I'm confident we will, and we can keep going forward. All of us, I can confidently say, are absolutely single-minded in our pursuit of winning a premiership next season.

"I have no doubt that Mick will have the same approach he had this year, that we're not shying away from the fact we want to win. Of course you do, everyone wants to, but we're in a phase of our football club that we can. We see that window, and we're going to take it."
