The AFL wishes to advise of a venue change for the 2022 AFLW Pre-Season Practice Matches between Carlton and Melbourne on Saturday August 13 and Richmond and Hawthorn on Sunday August 14.

The Carlton and Melbourne match will now be played at the MCG.

The match will start at 4.40pm AEST and finish at 6.20pm before the AFL Match between Melbourne and Carlton starts at 7.25pm.

Gates will open at 4.15pm.

The Richmond and Hawthorn match will also be played at the MCG.

The match will start at 10.30am AEST and finish at 12.10pm before the AFL match between Richmond and Hawthorn starts at 1.10pm.

Gates will open at 10:15am.

The AFL thanks the MCC for the availability of the venue and for enabling two double-headers at the MCG.

General Manager of Women's Football Nicole Livingstone OAM said the move to the MCG and enabling the double-headers is another exciting moment in the history of women's football.

"Firstly, I'd like to thank the MCC for their cooperation in moving these two games to the MCG and their continued support of women's football," Livingstone said.

"For a lot of these players, it will be the first time they play on the iconic MCG. But I'm confident it won't be the last.

"Tigers, Hawks, Dees and Blues fans will get to see their men's and women's teams back-to-back, without having to leave their seats.

"Season Seven starts in three weeks. I encourage all football fans to get down to the practice matches to catch their first glimpse of their team before Round One."

The AFLW Pre-Season Practice Matches will coincide with Round 22 of the AFL, marking the first time all 18 clubs will have both men's and women's teams taking the field.
