PORT Adelaide recruit Ebony O'Dea is set for stint on the sidelines after suffering a partial collapsed lung during match simulation against Adelaide.

The tough midfielder received a knee to the back during a marking contest during the third term, but didn’t leave the field until the final quarter.

Port Adelaide said O'Dea is well, and has been consulting with a chest specialist.

A timeline for her return has not yet been set, but she will not play in this weekend's practice match against Essendon at the Hangar.

Former Blue Grace Egan suffered a collapsed lung and broken ribs earlier this year, and returned after a month on the sidelines.

Melbourne recruit Sabreena Duffy has been cleared of damage after leaving the field against the Bombers on Saturday.

Duffy had appeared to re-injure her foot – which had a clean-out operation earlier this year – but scans are clear, and she remains in contention to play Carlton this weekend.
