ST KILDA forward Renee Saulitis will miss season seven after partially tearing her ACL during a practice match against Carlton earlier in the month.

Saulitis had been training in the time before getting scans, but the club has now decided surgery is the best course of action.

"We’re devastated for Renee, but she has our full support during this time," St Kilda head of AFLW Tessie McManus said.

"These injuries are always a tough pill to swallow, especially on the eve of the season, but Renee’s resilience has been outstanding despite this.

"Renee will undergo surgery next week before commencing her rehabilitation at the club."

The club has opted not to move Saulitis to the inactive list at this moment.

St Kilda has also confirmed Tyanna Smith's return to main training after rupturing her ACL before last season began, and is currently 6-8 weeks away from playing.
