THERE'S a three-way tie at the top of the womens.afl AFLW player of the season leaderboard at the halfway point of the campaign.

Star Essendon recruit Maddy Prespakis, Richmond superstar Monique Conti and two-time Geelong best and fairest Amy McDonald have each been awarded 11 votes after five matches.

Reporters and editors assigned to each match submit their 3-2-1 votes at the conclusion of the game.

Reigning premier Adelaide is rising up the ladder on the back of some sterling midfield efforts from Anne Hatchard (fourth, nine votes) and Ebony Marinoff (equal fifth, eight votes).

Last season's AFLW best and fairest Emily Bates has also polled eight votes to be alongside Marinoff.
