AFLW superstar Erin Phillips has revealed her distress after she was forced to flee a pride march following a suspected shooting in Washington DC on Sunday.
The USA's capital was thrown into chaos after a man threatened to fire a gun during a LGBTQ parade. Although it was later confirmed by local police no shots were fired, Phillips was caught up in the panic that caused seven people to be taken to hospital.

"I was only about 100m from a suspected shooting at the DC Pride parade," the Adelaide AFLW co-captain tweeted on Monday morning Australian time. "Ran and hid with the thousands of others in complete fear.
"How has the world come to this? The world my kids will grow up in." Phillips, who this year claimed her second AFLW MVP Award, is based in the USA during her football off-season as assistant coach of WNBA franchise Dallas Wings.

The 34-year-old married former basketball teammate Tracy Gahan in the USA in 2014 and was a vocal advocate of same-sex marriage before it was passed in Australia in 2017.
The couple share two children.
The daughter of Port Adelaide legend Greg Phillips, Erin claimed her second AFLW premiership with the Crows in March.
Phillips represented Australia in basketball at two Olympics, including a silver medal in 2008, and also claimed two WNBA titles as a player before switching to football.
