ADELAIDE'S historic AFLW premiership victory from last season will be relived this weekend, with fans able to re-watch the 2019 NAB AFLW Grand Final in a special live event on Facebook.

A 'virtual watch party' will take place replaying the Crows' triumph over the Blues at 1pm AEST on the official AFL Women's Facebook page on Saturday, with the clash played out in front of a bumper crowd of more than 53,000 people at the Adelaide Oval last year.

Adelaide superstar Erin Phillips delivered a masterful performance before unfortunately rupturing her ACL, guiding the Crows to a remarkable second AFLW premiership in just three years.

"The 2019 NAB AFLW Grand Final was an apex moment in our short history; to have more than 50,000 people turn out, and many more watching at home demonstrated a love for women’s football, and just how much it is resonating with Australians," the head of AFL Women's, Nicole Livingstone, said in a statement.

"Over the past four years, we have seen time and time again that AFLW is more than football, it’s something that unites communities, families, friends, and rivals. It provides an opportunity for women and girls to play the game they love.

"Although the 2020 NAB AFLW season didn’t end the way that it wanted to, we saw incredible steps forward, with more females playing our great game, impressive skill development, four new teams and an abundance of memorable moments.

"We’re thrilled to be tuning in to celebrate the achievements of women’s football this Saturday, and we’re confident and we’ll be back better than ever when football resumes."
