THE AFL today officially launched the 2026 NAB AFLW Season as tickets go on sale, with just three-weeks remaining until the highly anticipated season gets underway.

As the football community unites for mental health, Marvel Stadium will host the season opening game on Sunday 9 August as St Kilda and Carlton make history as the first-ever AFLW and AFL double-header as part of Spud’s Game.

Ahead of the historic season opener, some of the competition’s biggest stars ran through the players race at Marvel Stadium today to ceremoniously mark the occasion, celebrating the new era and continued evolution of the NAB AFLW.

General admission tickets are on sale from today, with adult and concession ticket prices frozen at $15 and juniors aged 14 years and under continuing to receive free entry, while a new $5 youth (15-17 years) ticket category has been introduced.

Ahead of the home-and-away season, many of the competition’s biggest stars and emerging talent will come together for the first representative clash in AFLW for the NAB AFLW Australia v Ireland which is set to play in front of a sold-out crowd at North Sydney Oval on Saturday 1 August.

A week later, the 2026 NAB AFLW Season will officially begin with the inaugural AFLW and AFL double-header for Spud’s Game, before Round 1 continues on Thursday 13 August when Hawthorn hosts Melbourne at IKON Park. Across the season, fans can look forward to additional AFLW and AFL double-headers and standalone AFLW double-headers.

With a vision for everyone to love and connect with Australian Rules Football, the inception of the NAB AFLW competition has transformed the game for women and girls. Participation has increased by more than 246 per cent since 2017, with more than 144,000 women and girls lacing up their boots across the country.

Club members gained access to tickets from 10.00am AEST today, with tickets available to the general public from 2.00pm AEST. Clubs will again offer additional ticketing categories and premium experiences at their home venues.
