Roos cut loose of Dogs' determined defence to claim another big win

North Melbourne weathered an intensely defensive opening from the Western Bulldogs before pulling away to an impressive 47-point win in Launceston on Saturday.

The Kangaroos’ triumph stretches their winning streak to 30 consecutive matches with no obvious signs of an end to the record-breaking run any time soon.

North led by just one point late in the second term as the Bulldogs’ pressure, and a horrible jumper clash that seemed to contribute to a high number of turnovers, made a massive upset seem possible.

But normal viewing resumed as the reigning champions kicked nine of the game’s last 10 goals to leave another challenger in their wake.

Crows crank it up to hand Eagles third loss on the trot

Kuwarna broke through for its first win under new coach Ryan Davis, Ebony Marinoff starring in a hard-fought 17-point victory in Indigenous Round that kept Waalitj Marawar winless three rounds into the season.

It was the fifth AFLW meeting between the sides, with the Crows booting their highest score of the season to maintain a perfect record against the Eagles.

The visitors trailed by 25 points at three-quarter-time, but fought desperately in the final term, going inside attacking 50 10 times to Kuwarna’s one to start the quarter.

But just one goal resulted from that dominance, as the home side defended grimly to improve to a 1-2 record and consign Daisy Pearce’s side to 0-3.

Swans remain undefeated as wayward Saints fail to take chances

Sydney made it three wins from three games to start the season after defeating Euro-Yroke 5.8 (38) to 1.9 (15) at C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour on Saturday.

The Saints had periods of dominance through the match but couldn't capitalise on the scoreboard and now sit on the ladder's lower rungs without a victory.

To make matters worse for Nick Dal Santo's side, Alice Burke went down with a knee injury and will be sent for scans to assess the damage in coming days.

Young the hero as Power down Giants at the death

A goal with just seconds on the clock to Yartapuulti young gun Lauren Young sealed a remarkable four-point win for the Power over Greater Western Sydney.

The Giants kicked four of the last five goals of the game to snatch the lead late, but Young turned matchwinner after marking 15m out from goal and calmly converting to seal the victory.

Star ruck Matilda Scholz set up the decisive moment with a crucial intercept mark before launching the attack that ultimately ended with Young's matchwinner at the death.

However, the thrilling win was overshadowed by a suspected serious knee injury to star Power forward Indy Tahau. Tahau, who previously tore her left ACL, was helped from the field late in the third term with a right knee injury and looked in serious distress.

Impressive Demons crush Lions

Narrm sent an ominous warning to the rest of the competition after a 56-point drubbing of Brisbane at Casey Fields.

The Lions had no answers for the Dees, falling to their biggest loss in AFLW history, 14.5 (89) to 4.9 (33).

There were plenty of injury concerns for Craig Starcevich’s Lions, Marlo Graham and Ruby Svarc suffered concussions, while Irishwoman Neasa Dooley was unable to finish the game with a shoulder concern.

Liv Purcell, Tyla Hanks and Kate Hore ran rampant through the midfield, while Tahlia Gillard was immense in the back half, helping the Dees to a 3-0 start to 2026.

Gutsy Cats overcome Suns as injuries hit hard

Gutsy Geelong has defeated Gold Coast by seven points at People First Stadium on Sunday despite finishing the match with just two fit players on the bench.

By early in the third quarter the Cats had lost Emma Kilpatrick, Priya Bowering and Piper Dunlop to injury, but showed terrific grit to win 10.4 (64) to 8.9 (57) in an entertaining contest.

Leading by 13 points at the final change, Geelong's margin was cut to one within minutes, but they steadied with a mature performance to win for a second straight week.

Georgie Prespakis was magnificent, finishing with 33 disposals to be a dominant midfield force, as was Mikayla Bowen, whose 25 touches and 12 tackles were instrumental in victory in her 75th match.

Third-quarter blitz powers Hawks past winless Pies

Hawthorn has won back-to-back games, kicking away in the third quarter against an improved Collingwood to win by 28 points at Victoria Park on Sunday afternoon.

After a relatively slow start, the Hawks dominated to finish 8.6 (54) to 3.8 (26) winners in the Indigenous Round clash.

Hawks Irish star Aine McDonagh had a game-high three goals, while teammate in ruck Lucy Wales continued her exciting season, dominating with 22 hitouts, five tackles and nine intercept possessions.

The Pies fought valiantly, greatly improving their clearance game and their entries inside forward 50 but couldn't make it count on the scoreboard. They also face injury watches on Bri Davey, Ash Centra and Kalinda Howarth at a time when they have an already long injury list.

Blues hang on in a thriller against fast-finishing Dockers

Carlton has seen off Walyalup and the first edition of AFLW 'Wharfie Time' to win a thriller at Cockburn ARC Oval by six points on Sunday afternoon, continuing an undefeated start to the season. 

In a thrilling clash that was alive right until the final seconds, the Blues held their nerve defensively, with the ball locked in Walyalup's forward half when the siren sounded to confirm the 7.6 (48) to 6.6 (42) win. 

In a bizarre game that saw all scores kicked to one end for more than three quarters, Carlton flipped the script to kick back-to-back goals against the breeze in the final term to set up its win, with Mimi Hill and Erone Fitzpatrick the heroes. 

Gabby O'Sullivan snapped a terrific goal to keep the Dockers alive, with the ground coming alive when the button was pushed for 'Wharfie Time' with 90 seconds to play. 

Star midfielder Kiara Bowers booted a behind to cut the margin to six points, but the Dockers couldn't find the goal they needed to tie scores, slipping to 1-2 after a heartbreaking loss. 

Tigers leave it late to edge Bombers in Dreamtime thriller

RICHMOND has consigned Essendon to a 0-3 start, with spearhead Caitlin Greiser's third goal pinching a five-point win with 70 seconds left on the clock.

The 5.8 (38) to 4.9 (33) victory at TIO Stadium marks Richmond's first AFLW victory in the Top End, the Tigers having ground out the win after trailing for most of the match.

Essendon star Maddy Prespakis had a hot start to the match, recording 11 disposals and the first two goals of the game, while young Tiger Mackenzie Ford helped break open the game when injected into the midfield at half-time, working nicely alongside best-on Mon Conti.
