BRISBANE has bounced back from last week's 56-point loss to Melbourne with a 31-point win over Greater Western Sydney at Brighton Homes Arena on Saturday.

Shanae Davison kicked two goals, Orla O'Dwyer racked up 21 disposals and a goal and Belle Dawes (20 disposals, eight clearances) also impressed as the Lions won 7.13 (55) to 3.6 (24) in slippery conditions.

The Lions moved to 2-2 with the victory, but the Giants held their own in patches, with the scoreline ultimately belying the effort and endeavour with which GWS played.

Alyce Parker was prominent for the Giants with 31 disposals, five clearances and 501 metres gained, while Bec Beeson was also busy with 25 disposals and seven clearances.

Teenage ruck Yasmeen Janschek battled admirably in the ruck, while cameos from Brodee Mowbray, Tilly Lucas-Rodd and Poppy Boltz against her former side helped the Giants put up a fight.

But ultimately, the Lions were a class above, with their run seemingly endless even though they struggled to hit targets by both foot and hand at stages. 

Charlie Mullins and the irrepressible Dawes were the difference, with their effort and energy evident in the way they tackled and fired up after every positive act.

Lions find a new-look forward line
Brisbane has struggled to find avenues to goal this season without Taylor Smith (traded to Sydney) and Courtney Hodder (out due to personal reasons), but against the Giants, things started to come together. Shanae Davison was imposing up forward, playing deep and presenting well while Dakota Davidson had better attack on the footy with Evie Long as another tall target taking some of the heat off her.

Every time Dakota Davidson got anywhere near the footy on Saturday night, a chorus of cheers sounded out around Brighton Homes Arena. Stationed along the boundary in the forward pocket was a gaggle of students from Davidson's old school, Ipswich Girls Grammar. Proudly holding enormous cardboard cutouts of Davidson's face as well as homemade signs, their excitement was both palpable and incredibly audible. After a few false starts in the first half, Davidson finally found the sticks late in the game to give her adoring audience even more to cheer about.
