GOLD Coast has dropped veteran Lily Mithen, Melbourne will be without star recruit Mia Austin and Richmond has opted to name two top-ups ahead of Paige Scott and Bec Miller.

Draftee forward Alannah Welsh has also been dropped by Rhyce Shaw, with young pair Bronte Parker and Ellie Veerhuis named in their place.

Melbourne's potential banana peel game against Gold Coast just got even more slippery, with Mia Austin out injured, but Shelley Heath-Barker (calf) will return. The Dees have recalled young ruck Jacinta Hose in place of dropped veteran Lauren Pearce, and Tahlia Fellows will play her first game in Melbourne colours, in place of Alyssia Pisano.

Richmond coach Jarrad Donders has made a big statement, dropping Scott and Miller, while Emelia Yassir will miss through injury.

Former Sun and Bomber Alana Barba will play for her third AFLW club, while ex-Cat Caitlin Thorne gets another chance at the top level, with Georgia Stubs recovering from a concussion.

Teams can name top-ups as players in the 21, provided they have fewer than 24 fit players on their list (21 on the field and three emergencies), and the Tigers will have three primary-listed players filling the emergencies slot.

The Brothwell twins will face off for the first time, after Essendon recalled Nalu for the clash against the unchanged Western Bulldogs and sister Mizuki, with young Bombers tall Taya Chambers (back) injured for the rest of the season.

After a week's rest, West Coast defender Beth Schilling has returned in place of Mia Russo (hamstring), while opponent Port Adelaide will regain Ella Heads after her three-match suspension, with Kirsty Lamb out of the team for a second week.

Geelong has made just one change, resting draftee Evie Cowcher, while key defender Lexi Gregor has returned from concussion.

Young ruck Maisy Evans will make her AFLW debut with Greater Western Sydney, with Brodee Mowbray (quad) returning, while Sara Howley (hand) and omitted Caitlin Fletcher come out of the team.

St Kilda has regained Ella Friend (shoulder) and Saoirse Lally (concussion), dropping Rene Caris and top-up Zoe Barbakos.

It's mixed news on the injury front for Collingwood, who will bring back Imogen Barnett (Achilles) and Kellyann Hogan (hamstring), but lose veteran Sarah Rowe (managed/groin), with Liv Lewis omitted.

Brisbane looks set to regain Jade Ellenger (wrist), although the team won't be finalised until Friday night.
