ADELAIDE midfielder Ebony Marinoff has been referred directly to the Tribunal after being charged with forceful front-on contact against GWS rookie Bríd Stack during Sunday's practice match.

The resulting tackle sent the Irishwoman to hospital, and she was released later on Sunday night with a stable fracture of the C7 vertebra.

There was no damage to the surrounding nerves and Stack does not require surgery, but she will wear a neck brace for the short term.

The incident was assessed as careless conduct, high contact with severe impact.

Marinoff, a two-time premiership player with the Crows, is unable to accept an early guilty plea as a result of the incident being referred to the Tribunal.
