JUST two players have now featured in all three womens.afl Teams of the Week: Ellie Blackburn and Alyce Parker.

The powerful midfielders have had stunning starts to the season in a hotly contested category, while Jackie Parry makes her TOTW debut after three goals.

The team is selected to mirror the All-Australian side: five defenders, six midfielders (including a ruck), five forwards and five interchange players.

Like the All-Australian team, it has players selected in general categories, rather than in traditional positions. The 16-a-side set-up often means teams play with varying configurations, making set selections (e.g wings and flanks) difficult.

DEFENDERS

Lauren Ahrens (Gold Coast), Sinead Goldrick (Melbourne), Kate Lutkins (Brisbane), Lou Stephenson (GWS), Hannah Priest (St Kilda),

Ahrens (16 disposals, six marks) and Stephenson (nine disposals, eight kicks, five marks) were defensive pillars at opposing ends of the ground.

Goldrick (14 touches, four marks) was a great source of rebound for the Dees, while Priest (18 disposals, six tackles, five marks) was kept busy against Carlton.

In the final match of the round, Lutkins (12 disposals, seven marks) was a rock when the Lions were under enormous pressure in the first quarter.

MIDFIELDERS

Emma King (North Melbourne, ruck), Ellie Blackburn (Western Bulldogs), Britt Bonnici (Collingwood), Kiara Bowers (Fremantle), Alyce Parker (GWS), Maddy Prespakis (Carlton)

Coming up against Lauren Pearce, King rose to the occasion with 23 hitouts, seven disposals and five tackles.

Bonnici led all-comers this week with a whopping 31 disposals, including 10 marks, while Blackburn's hot start to the season continued with 25, nine tackles and six marks.

Bowers (23 and 13 tackles) set the standard against Adelaide, while young midfield bulls Prespakis (24, five tackles and a goal) and Parker (24 and five tackles) led their teams to their first wins of 2021.

FORWARDS

Sabreena Duffy (Fremantle), Izzy Huntington (Western Bulldogs), Phoebe McWilliams (Geelong), Jackie Parry (Melbourne), Taylor Smith

Parry kicked her first AFLW bag of three to lead the round's goalkicking, while Duffy's link-up work in attack was crucial to Fremantle's win, booting a goal of her own.

McWilliams (11 disposals, six marks) got on the board for the first time in 2021 and led hard all night, as did Huntington (12, nine marks and a goal) at the other end of the ground.

Smith broke through for her first AFLW goal, and wasn't satisfied with one, kicking three against the Eagles and recording eight hitouts and five marks.

INTERCHANGE

Lauren Arnell (Brisbane), Steph Cain (Fremantle), Jasmine Garner (North Melbourne), Tyla Hanks (Melbourne), Elise O'Dea (Carlton)

O'Dea's versatility was on show, reading the play beautifully at both ends of the ground with 21 disposals and a goal.

Garner (15 disposals, 12 tackles, two goals) battled hard to keep North Melbourne in touch with the Dees, with Hanks (23 and nine tackles) running riot for the opposition.

Arnell's career-best season continued with 18 touches and a goal, while Cain's run on the wing (15, 14 kicks and six marks) was influential in the Dockers' big win.
