SCANS have confirmed stand-in Adelaide skipper Ange Foley has ruptured her left ACL, while superstar Erin Phillips will undergo an arthroscopy on her reconstructed knee.
Foley landed awkwardly when contesting a mark in the third term of Saturday's Grand Final loss.
The 32-year-old is one of the most experienced players on their list, having played 40 games, and was filling the concussed Chelsea Randall's role as captain.
"Ange is a highly respected leader, teammate and friend, and we are devastated for her," Adelaide head of women's footy Phil Harper said.
"She will now meet with the surgeon and is expected to undergo an operation in the coming week.
"The club is right behind her and we will support her every step of her rehab journey."
Phillips ruptured her left ACL in the 2019 AFLW Grand Final, and has been playing under discomfort for the past five weeks.
She was in outstanding touch early in the season, averaging 19.5 disposals and kicking 11 goals between rounds one to six.
In her final five games, she averaged 13 touches and kicked three goals.
The Crows have confirmed surgery has been planned for some time.
"Erin was been playing in some discomfort in her knee over the last five weeks," Harper said.
"As the recovery for this surgery is four to six weeks, Erin opted to wait until after finals and played out the season with support from our medical team.
"Arthroscopic surgery is scheduled for this Friday."
