DYNAMIC Gold Coast forward Maddi Levi has been called up to the Australian rugby sevens team for the Tokyo Olympics.

The 19-year-old had an eye-catching debut season with the Suns, kicking three goals from her eight games in a winless year for the club.

Levi's selection for the Olympic squad came on the back of strong form at the recent Oceania tournament in Townsville, where GWS recruit Chloe Dalton's Games dream ended on the back of a broken cheekbone.

Younger sister Teagan is also a strong rugby sevens player, and looks set to join Maddi in the AFLW via the NAB AFLW Draft at the end of the month.

"I am beyond grateful to be given the opportunity to represent Australia at the Olympics," Levi said on the Suns' website.

"I've been putting in so much work to earn this chance and just want to do my family, friends and country proud."
