"It's one of the first things Steve (Symonds, coach) spoke to the group about, when Sharni announced her retirement, was there is nobody we can bring into the club to replace that," list manager Jess Burger told Credit to the Girls podcast.

"And it's going to take every individual – players and staff – to go up five per cent to get anywhere near that. He really put it on the group they needed to do that.

"However, Sharni did say she was going to pop down and try and help at a few sessions, and I'm sure we’ll hear her coming down Punt Road before she even arrives."

Burger also discussed the Pies' 'Benjamin Button' recruit, soon-to-be 37-year-old Alison Downie, the acquisition of Sabrina Frederick and trading out of the first round.

Credit to the Girls is in the midst of an off-season mini-series, with each of the 14 clubs put under the microscope around trade and the draft.
