GEELONG and Gold Coast will hit the 2021 NAB AFLW Draft hard, holding five selections each after the AFL Commission allocated two first-round priority picks to both clubs.

The Cats and the Suns were winless coming into their final-round clash in 2021, with the Cats getting over the line to record their first victory for the year.

Both clubs are currently without coaches after Paul Hood and David Lake stepped down.

They weren't the only ones to be given assistance, with Richmond and St Kilda receiving a second-round priority pick, while West Coast has both a second and third-round priority selection.

The five clubs are unable to trade their respective first picks, which are the first five selections of the draft.

Geelong and Gold Coast can both sign two "mature-age" talent from their respective regions ahead of the draft.

AFLW EXPANSION Four new clubs, no more AFL overlap

Additional selections will be added in reverse ladder order if clubs make more than the minimum three list changes.

The draft is a state-based affair, with players able to nominate which state they wish to be drafted in due to the part-time nature of the competition.

Timelines for the upcoming NAB AFLW Sign and Trade Period, as well as projected dates for the NAB AFLW Draft, will be advised in due course.
