GREATER Western Sydney has finalised its AFLW list, with young key-position player Isadora McLeay joining the club.

The 17-year-old Sydney local has signed as a replacement player following Emily Goodsir's pregnancy.

McLeay was named in the 2021 under-19 All-Australian team following a strong defensive showing for the Allies in the NAB AFLW Under-19 Championships.

Standing at 178cm and playing for North Shore Bombers in the AFL Sydney league, McLeay is a member of Sydney's academy and has also participated in the Giants' footy programs.

"We're really excited to welcome Isadora to the Giants," GWS coach Alan McConnell said.

"She's a versatile defender who can also play forward, she has clean hands overhead and uses the ball extremely well by hand and foot.

"It's a great opportunity for another local Sydney product to play at the highest level with the Giants.

"We also wish Em well as she steps away from football this season. She's still an integral member of our group and we're really excited for her next chapter."

Goodsir is due in February.
