THERE could be a bidding war in 18 years after AFL great Gary Ablett jnr and wife Jordan announced the birth of their first daughter, Grace.

The latest addition to the famous footballing family was born on Wednesday and is the younger sister to two-year-old brother Levi.

Ablett played 357 AFL games, with 247 coming at Geelong in two separate stints.

The dual Brownlow medallist also joined Gold Coast for 110 matches in between, meaning Grace could play for either club if she chose to follow in her father's footsteps.

AFLW rules stipulate the father of a daughter needs to have played just one game for a club to activate the father-daughter rule.

Ablett is the son of another AFL great, Gary Ablett snr.
