Kangaroos head of football Nathan Hrovat said the injury was another setback for the luckless 22-year-old.

"After missing last season with a hamstring injury, 'Lish' has worked so hard to put herself back into a position where she was fighting for a spot in the side again," Hrovat told nmfc.com.au.

"Her attitude has always been top notch, and we’ll support her in any way we can during her recovery.

"She’s a really popular person at our club, and it’s pretty devastating news for her. I’m sure she’ll go really hard at her rehab to get herself fit to play as soon as possible."

King will be now be placed on the Kangaroos' inactive list.
