Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Events Manager is responsible for the strategic development, planning, management and execution of our SUNS Events Program.  This includes major events, member events, match-day and other strategic initiatives. In addition, this role will also have integration across our non-AFL event content held at Metricon Stadium, including BBL and concerts.

 

In this varied role the Event Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • End-to-end event leadership, management and execution of the Events Program
  • Managing all planning and delivery elements of AFL match day operations and hospitality functions
  • Engagement in the development of strategic planning for the Events Program to drive engagement and growth
  • Development of creative concepts to elevate our Events Program
  • Delivery of budget outcomes
  • Leading cross-function development of event concepts and activations
  • Providing superior customer service to engage multiple stakeholders
  • Collaboration with our Stadium team in the delivery of other major events at Metricon Stadium

 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong personal brand which personifies the GC SUNS values
  • 5 years experience in an Events focused role
  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, events, communications or a business-related discipline
  • Experience in leading, managing and organising large scale corporate and consumer events
  • Experience in driving new initiatives and implementing event strategies
  • A creative flair with event ideas and activation
  • A strong eye for detail, ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Outstanding customer service & stakeholder management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate
  • Knowledge and passion for sports, particularly AFL
  • Experience with CRM programs and database management
