IT'S A NEW-LOOK All Australian squad this season with 25 players from the 40-man extended squad presented their first chance to earn a guernsey in the coveted team.

Top two teams Collingwood and Geelong have provided six players each to the squad, while there are five West Coast players including Darren Glass, Dean Cox, Andrew Embley, Josh Kennedy and Matt Priddis in line for the 2011 team.

The Magpies are Travis Cloke, Leon Davis, Scott Pendlebury, Ben Reid, Dane Swan and Dale Thomas.

The Cats have Corey Enright, Steve Johnson, James Kelly, Matthew Scarlett, Joel Selwood and Harry Taylor, with third-placed Hawthorn boasting four - Grant Birchall, Sam Mitchell, Josh Gibson and Lance Franklin - as nominees for final honours.

Interestingly, Essendon - who finished eighth on the ladder - has no nominees while North Melbourne, who ended the home and away season ninth, has four with Todd Goldstein, Drew Petrie, Andrew Swallow and Daniel Wells getting the nod.

The Sydney Swans - who finished seventh - have just the one nominee with Adam Goodes.

Carlton, who ended the year fifth, has four with Brownlow Medal favourite Chris Judd, Eddie Betts, Marc Murphy and Heath Scotland in contention.

Judd and Scarlett are the most capped All Australian nominees with five previous selections each across their star-studded careers.

Rounding out the top eight, St Kilda, who finished sixth - is represented by three; Nick Dal Santo, Sam Fisher and Stephen Milne.

Of the other teams that didn't make the finals, Adelaide's Scott Thompson is in the mix to represent the Crows in the final 22, while Fremantle has Nat Fyfe and Luke McPharlin as part of the squad.

Brownlow medallist Gary Ablett is Gold Coast's lone representative after a solid year as the Suns' captain while Brett Deledio is the only Tiger to have earned a nomination.

Lastly, the Western Bulldogs are represented by captain Matthew Boyd - who led the League for possessions and averaged almost 32 a game - and Robert Murphy, who had a strong year off half-back.

The Brisbane Lions, Melbourne and Port Adelaide were all without representation in the squad.

Thompson, Betts, Murphy, Scotland, Cloke, Reid, Thomas, Fyfe, McPharlin, Kelly, Taylor, Birchall, Gibson, Mitchell, Goldstein, Petrie, Swallow, Wells, Deledio, Fisher, Milne, Embley, Kennedy, Priddis and Murphy are the 25 nominated for the first time.

The All Australian selection panel is made up of AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou (chairman), football operations manager Adrian Anderson, Kevin Bartlett, Luke Darcy, Danny Frawley, Glen Jakovich, Leigh Matthews and Mark Ricciuto.

"Selection in the Four'N Twenty All Australian team is recognition for a tremendous year of football, as the best player in your position across the entire competition," Demetriou said.

"All Australian selection is a great honour because of the quality of those players you have competed against, to win your spot, and the selectors nominated the 40 best players of the year to highlight the outstanding players who are in contention for selection as one of the elite players of the season."
