Zac Smith has signed a contract extension at Gold Coast
ZAC Smith, Trent McKenzie and Seb Tape are among five Gold Coast players who have signed contract extensions.
The trio - all inaugural members of the squad - have been joined by Queenslanders Jackson Allen and Clay Cameron.
Smith, McKenzie, Tape and Cameron are believed to have signed until the end of 2015, and Allen until the end of 2014.
The signings are a big coup for the Suns, who lost Tom Hickey (St Kilda) and Josh Caddy (Geelong) in last year's trade period.
Suns to hold fire on compo picks
Smith and McKenzie both had difficult seasons in 2012 after breakout debut campaigns.
Tape is highly valued at the Suns and is currently recovering from a full knee reconstruction.
Suns' general manager football operations Marcus Ashcroft said the club was pleased to have another group of players re-sign.
"We are thrilled that these five players have joined an ever growing list of players who are committed to establishing success with the Gold Coast Football Club," Ashcroft said.
The quintet joins the likes of David Swallow, Harley Bennell, Jaeger O'Meara, Sam Day, Tom Lynch, Charlie Dixon and Brandon Matera who all extended their contracts throughout 2012.
Dan Gorringe, Dion Prestia and Rory Thompson have still yet to be locked away beyond 2013.
