WESTERN Bulldogs midfielder Adam Cooney will miss the next two matches after scans confirmed a small hamstring bleed.

Cooney was monitored when he noticed tightness in his right hamstring after the loss to Gold Coast, but when it didn't improve, medical staff sent him for scans.

"Adam felt tightness in his right hamstring towards the end of the game on Saturday," medical services manager Andrew McKenzie told the club website.

"An MRI revealed a small bleed within the muscle, which will keep him sidelined for two weeks."

Cooney, the 2008 Brownlow medallist, has kicked nine goals in eight games this season, while averaging 23 possessions and two tackles per game.
