EAGLE Mark Nicoski's comeback to AFL football will have to wait until 2014 after the 29-year-old underwent season ending wrist surgery on Tuesday.

The 112-game veteran injured the wrist playing for Subiaco in the WAFL on Saturday.

It was just his sixth match back after missing the entire 2012 premiership season with a hamstring injury.

Nicoski damaged the scapho-lunate ligament and the surgery has ruled him out for three months, effectively ending his year.

It is a cruel blow for Nicoski who kicked 41 goals for West Coast in the 2011 season before tearing his hamstring off the bone in the 2012 NAB Cup grand final.
