HAWTHORN has securedin-form wingman Isaac Smith to a two-year contract extension, tying him to theclub until at least the end of 2016. 

The 24-year-old signed anew contract as recently as June last year, which was not due to expire untilafter the 2014 season. 

But he has chosen tore-commit ahead of time, joining fellow Hawks Jed Anderson and Bradley Hill inannouncing new deals this week.

"When you find those specialfriendships and relationships, you just don't want to leave them because you'rehaving a good time and there's no point putting a spanner in the works,"Smith told hawthornfc.com.au.

"We all get along well, and there's a good bunch of blokes coming througharound the 21-25 age bracket, so there's a nice core group of us there who areall good mates.

"I'm just happy that they put something on the table and I'm really justhappy to be here for another few years.

"It's a pretty special place.

"You feel welcome and wanted around here, so it's a good place tobe." 

The Hawks will make anothercontract announcement on Thursday afternoon.
