THE WESTERN Bulldogs and Will Minson have agreed to terms on a new contract that will see the All Australian ruckman remain at the Whitten Oval until at least the end of 2016.

The 28-year-old was contracted until the end of next season, at which point he would have become a free agent, but instead signed a two-year extension with the Bulldogs.

"I'm thrilled that I was able to sign – there was absolutely no hesitation," Minson told the Herald Sun.

"It's a terrific Christmas present."

Minson said the process had been short and simple.

"I wasn't expecting for it to all to be done in a matter of weeks," he said.

"The club said they were keen to negotiate an extension and I was like, 'Fabulous'."

Minson played all 22 games in 2013, winning selection in the AFL's team of the year for the first time.

He also finished third in the Bulldogs' best and fairest count, behind only midfielders Ryan Griffen and Tom Liberatore.
