STAR forward Taylor Walker remains on track for his return to competitive football despite a precautionary scan on his reconstructed right knee on Thursday.

Walker pulled up sore from Adelaide's training on Monday with some swelling in his knee but scans have revealed no structural damage.

The 23-year-old's diligence to his rehabilitation has impressed the Crows' coaching and fitness staff, after he ruptured his ACL against Carlton in round five last year.

Football manager Phil Harper said Walker's scan was nothing to worry about.

"It's structurally sound – the doctor just sent him for a scan to check that everything was alright, which it is," Harper said.

"When you have a player like him and there's a bit of swelling you'd want to make 100 per cent sure that everything's alright.

"It's not uncommon in those type of injuries to get a little bit of swelling so he'll just have to take a bit of a back step for a couple of days and he'll be back into it.

"He's still on track, still on target for the 12 months as we've said all along."

The slightest of setbacks will likely keep Walker to minimal training for the rest of the week, but Harper said he would continue his full rehabilitation towards the end of next week.

"He probably will be on lighter duties this week, but I would think that within a week or so he will be back into where he left off on Monday," he said.

"He'sgoing well … the doctors haven't given a date yet on when he's toreturn but I wouldn't imagine it being anywhere after the 12-monthperiod," he said.
