PAUL Duffield has agreed to a one-year contract extension that will see the veteran defender remain at Fremantle until the end of the 2015 season.

The 29-year-old defender has played 133 games since debuting in 2006, after being elevated off the rookie list, and would have qualified as a free agent at the end of the 2014 season.

Duffield has been a fixture in the Dockers defence under Ross Lyon. He was equal second for rebounds from defensive 50 for the Dockers in 2013.

Fremantle still has five unsigned players who will join the free agency list at years end - David Mundy, Luke McPharlin, Garrick Ibbotson, Aaron Sandilands and Matthew Pavlich.

The Dockers will play their third and final pre-season match against West Coast on Thursday March 6 at Patersons Stadium.
